  • This rather ambiguous statement is on TT's website today:

No bank details were taken that aren’t already shared when you write a cheque or arrange a payment into your account.

So I think they're saying bank details HAVE been stolen....??

Totally incompetent and hope they get fined millions as they deserve to be.

I think the max fine from the ICO is £500,000.
If they do get fined they will pass it on to customers via yet another price increase.

If the boy is the hacker he should replace the CEO and she should be charged.
    He`s obviously brighter than her.

you can get noodle (call credit) free of charge for life , once registered read post 233 to add the free email alert , from memory the code was TT231 , might work better to register first then add this , this extra is valid for 12v mths

noodle is only a one day a month "snapahot" , not real time , call credit is only a small CRA , try also (free) https://www.clearscore.com/?utm_source=Clearscore+Customers&utm_campaign=6af4fb6664-Global_Nav_Update_AB_Test10_6_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_fd88658f83-6af4fb6664-117603777

cant remember if that is expedian or exifax
unless the alert is real time, unlike their details, which are monthly, then it's a false sense of security.
noddle already send an e-mail monthly, to say your credit file has been updated, is that when they will alert you of any illicit transactions?
As I pay DD from San 123 A/c I've set up account alerts.via e-mail and text.
If the A/c falls under £x it notifies me.
Probably other banks do the same.
    just keep logging into noddle every month, unless someone proves Alerts are real time;;
Call Credit are never up to date any way.
They are the worst of the 3, that's why it's free.
I applied for M/s A/c and CC , 3 weeks ago, still no search showing on Noddle, but using A/c and CC.and search done, M/s told me on phone.
    The mind boggles

    Any chance they can get that 15 year old to get the web site back up for them so I can change my password that wasn;
    't stolen.

Interesting to see the hoops TalkTalk are putting customers through to cancel penalty-free - different line to the understanding case-by-case information they've told the media.

For us to consider your request to leave without a termination fee, you will need to meet the following criteria:

You have had money taken from your account without your consent and you have incurred a financial loss as as result.
The money was taken on or after the 21st October 2015.
Contacted Action Fraud UK and obtained a Crime Reference Number.
If you meet all three of these criteria please write to us at the address below with:

The crime reference number from Action Fraud UK.
A copy of your proof of the fraudulent bank transaction.

Even then they'll only consider it on a case-by-case basis as a goodwill gesture! No indication if they'd consider reimbursing/compensating you!

I guess they expect to lose a load of customers (along with their share value!) and probably will struggle to attract any new ones.

Seems very short-sighted to me and will probably go down like a lead balloon infront of a select committee but time will tell!

just applied the noddle alerts, free, even though it says thanks for buying it.

the tt account and data is mine, but the direct debit is set up from wifes a/c.

Have any heads rolled at Talktalk yet ?

The may roll and deserve to do so but I'd rather there were an investigation first before they get sacked and look for jobs with the VW group.

I want to stay, but, on the same deal as the newbies.
going to ring them, but, don't expect a better offer than last phone call.

Joe, one bit of advice don`t ring them.
When their site eventually gets up and running again,do the online chat.
That way you`ve got an exact record of what was said and offered.
