think the sticking point is proving
1) your data is compromised and "shared"
2) proving they have not taken adequate steps to protect your data
would need a test case I suspectEx forum ambassador

TALKTALK say that if you have had money stolen from your bank or credit card, they will look at your case, the problem is for everyone is proving that, you know what, TALKTALK know that hence the words PROVE IT will be foremost on ther puckered lips.
If you have not seen this yet, click on

I would suggest you use the template on offer to claim against TALKTALK. If they ignore or refuse, advise Ofcom, that is what they are there for. Or advise the Ombudsman Services.
Martin has been the fore runner on claims such as bank charges and PPI mis selling. In the end, the banks put aside £millions but before, they were in denial.
TALKTALK do not have the resources that the banks do and without doubt, this sorry saga will cripple them.
TALKTALK are now showing their true colours and nobody should use them. Three times hacked ??? We do not want bad companies in our society, nor do the shareholders of TALKTALK need such a bad CEO, Dido Harding, who comes across as more than useless.
TALKTALK show themselves as arrogant and ignorant and every TALKTALK customers should be making plans to leave TALKTALK0 -

Class action may, but, a flood of these letters would make TT think on if it's worth defending.
That's if enough people want to leave.?0 -
THE DAILY MAIL TODAY

Sack the CEO and bring in a professional who could maybe save TALKTALK otherwise they will go bust.
Start making plans now to move to a professional provider. You are in your rights to change provider giving TALKTALK 30 days notice. Reject the contract as they have breached your privacy and the contract where they state
"Section 18 of your terms and conditions states: ‘We’re committed to protecting and preserving any information you give to us.’
Additionally, your Privacy Policy states that you will only share information with organisations outside of TalkTalk with the customer’s consent."
The burden of proof about your details being stolen is now the liability of TALKTALK to prove to you without doubt whether YOURS was or was not stolen in this breach of security
In reality TALKTALK will not know and thereby they leave themselves wide open0 -
I think they've dealt with it the wrong way, they should have
1)Apologised straight away
2)offered ALL customers a 12 month reduction in their bills
3)offered a FULL independent review of their security of their data and web site , with a rapid interim report . Ongoing independent reports on a monthly basis of progress and security testingEx forum ambassador

I have just phoned TT at Preston, very nice guy, and had a long amiable chat.
As I am out of contract, and been offered a new one for £7.50, for 6 months then £15 for next twelve, I declined and said I would move to Sky.
He asked what I wanted, to which I said, same as newbies, £7.50 per month for Unlimited BB+ Anytime calls to LL and Mobiles, and I would sign for next 18 months.New router.
20 days to cancel.
Although I'm not happy with 18 month contracts, I agreed, and I will pay my LR upfront next month @ £191, = £16 pm.
No vouchers, not bothered.
I'm pleased, no bother moving now.
CS today very good.
Been with them 15 years, so why move now.0 -

I wonder how long it will be before we get TV ads and phone calls asking if you`d like to claim compensation from TT on a no win no fee basis.
Can`t wait.0 -
