I am a TT customer migrated from AOL, however it was such a long time ago that I signed up with AOL that I would not remember if I gave them date of birth. I never saw it on account screens.
Mine did too - Thursday daytime
Mine went into Spam too.
Oddly enough I logged into TT account on Tuesday and changed account it was taking DD from so don't know which account details hackers may have, have to assume both.
BUT, are these details from this Hack or First , or Second.
This is the Third this year?
Just gonna check my A/c:-)
Seems TT are lying to everyone. My e-mail was in Spam today.0 -
PS I got the email from TalkTalk yesterday, with my account number and name in plain text !!!!!!! The content simply repeated the same press release I read on the BBC website earlier in the day, link below, there is a link to Talktalk's statement in the BBC article.

Section 13 of the Data Protection Act 1998 ("DPA") provides that an individual who suffers damage resulting from an organisation's breach of the DPA is entitled to compensation for that damage. Compensation may also be claimed in the event that the breach gives rise to distress as well as damage.
The website is still down - so how do we change our account passwords ?0 -
No mention at all of any attack on their business website

Does that mean it only applies to residential customers ?0 -
According to Daily Mail our records were stolen Wednesday, And are already being used to buy stuff.????DM

So, the thieves steal the data of relating to 4million people, trawl through it all and highlight the details of one person, and take just £600 from her account? It seems a lot of effort for £600.
The most likely explanation for this particular fraud is the usual one - someone she knows has got hold of her card details and has had a spree.
But, hey, let's blame Talk Talk for everything.

I'm with TalkTalk Business and i spoke to them this morning about the breach. Their exact words:
"TTB customers are largely unaffected however if you set up your DD via myaccount on the TTB website then there's a risk. We strongly recommend you change your myaccount password immediately"0 -

How exactly are we expected to change either our account password - when we are unable to login to the account ?
Did you ask them ?
I am with TTbusiness for my email - which I have changed the password on (TTB website is still up and running) - but my Account password is with TT Residential0 -

You appear to be condoning TT for this lack of common sense - I mean who else would hold a large DB of 4 million customer bank details in plain language / unencrypted ?0 -
I've just been on the Talk Talk website and followed their link for free credit monitoring with Noddle for a year. However, I don't know whether to trust this or not! On the Noddle website to sign up it asks for all sorts of info, including your bank card details including the 3 digit number on the back...
At this point I closed the website as I simply don't know whether to trust them or not, particularly as it was following a link on the Talk Talk website...0 -

Sorry no idea about TTR, though TTB is still up & running so i managed to change myaccount password on that without any fuss0
