The speed Christmas is approaching is ridiculous. I feel like i'm going to wake up and it will be Christmas eve and I wont have even started my shopping!3-6 Month Emergency fund Challenge #18 £250/£5000

Thanks Helen - keeping my fingers crossed for your EF payment soon!
No news from the garage yet, but on the plus side, I chased my solicitor yesterday and the court papers will be on their way to me this week, so I should still be able to buy my little house (where I currently live but have to buy someone out) before Christmas! So that's made me feel a lot brighter.:j If I can get over the hump of the car, then I can crack on with the EF and, finally, join the MFWs! #7 mothernerd money in today so I am going to commit another £30 to the emergency fund, so total is now £80/£1000.
I could put more in but must get to the doctor's tomorrow and think I will need bus/taxi. I need to start moving stuff out of the shed at the 'up for sale' (sale proceeding) house and finding it totally impossible to walk there and back atm - will also have to be there for a couple of appointments (gas meter inspection and need to arrange for the hospice shop to collect some things). I still have some money in my transport budget but it may not be enough. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Morning Helen,
I haven't got anything to update today......payday is tomorrow but I just wanted to pop in and say you are doing fab, not just with the EF but also with encouragement and support for everyone else on the thread. You pop in daily and address everyone that has posted. You update the 1st thread with targets and progress and I just think you are doing a wonderful job so well done and thank you :T :T :T
Also adding a fiver is better than taking it out so keep it up. Slow and sure will get you to the finish line and that's the main thing.

Aww Dobbibill .... that's so sweet of you to say!! I must admit at being a bit nervous of starting this Thread but you've all made it really easy for me and it's a real pleasure to encourage and support everyone....and I think everyone is supporting each other which is really lovely to see
I'm off out to the Gym soon....I was diagnosed with Diabetes about a month ago and it's really given me the impetus to lose weight and get fitter (so far I'm 13 pounds down)....So I got the GP to do an Exercise Referral which means that I am paying £1 per 1 hour supervised session at the Gym, twice a week for 6 weeks and then it's at a massively reduced rate for me to continue to use the Gym after that...I'm hoping that once I've been going for 6 weeks twice a week that it will be part of my routine and then I'll just keep on doing it as I'm sure I'll start to see the benefits soon....
So anyway....that's what I'm doing this morning....and then I'm off to do some Food Shopping and a tiny bit of Christmas Shopping.....and then back home to Work for the rest of the Day...
Feeling positive today....not sure why but I'll take it and run with it...
I hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL Day and remember that even if you can only put in a pound each Week it's still a pound that you would not have saved otherwise...So GO FOR IT!! xXx0 -
Hi
I have just discovered this thread and have not read the full thread yet just the first post.
I am too late to join in?
I would like to save up a £6000 emergency fund which seems huge but if I don't start it will never happen will it.0 -
