Good morning DreamerHelen,

Xmas 2018=£100/£300 Australia =£0.00/60000 -
Evening Everyone...
Well I think I spoke too soon....I woke up last night to do some Work and felt horribly sick....I then spent the next several hours throwing up and passing out (that bit really scared me)....I think I may have had some sort of Food Poisoning or maybe a Virus...
So today I've spent the day doing a little bit of work from home....and eating plain Biscuits every few hours...and sleeping...And I'm finally feeling a bit better although my throat feels raw and my tummy feels tender...
But it could have ended up with me in A+E so I'm grateful I got through it without that...
On the plus side, I've earned more this past Week than I've earned in any week this Year so I'm really happy with that...
I'm also going to be able to put in another Fiver this Week into my £6000 Emergency Fund and my £1000 Emergency Fund so I'm really happy with that...
Here's to the Updates.... xXx
Honeybee83 - I've Updated the First Page...You're doing AWESOME!! Keep on going and moving forwards....I'm glad to hear that the Pooch is doing better... xXx0 -
Hi, I'm new to the forums but would love to join this challenge please? My OH and I are in the process of buying our first house but currently house sharing. We're using each day waiting to save up as many pennies as possible- I'm sure we'll need it for emergency house work haha!
Three months of my wages would be £4200 but with my OH's income we are aiming to save £9300 togetherAlso can I ask which type of account you save your EF in? I'm thinking a current account would be easy access but may not accumulate much interest.
Thanks all and good luck to everyone!Goals for 2017:- [STRIKE]Complete purchase of house[/STRIKE]
- Save emergency fund- £1200/ £9300

Hi Dogbooks, welcome to the forum and also to this thread. :hello:
You are very welcome to join us and sounds like you are timing it perfectly if a first house purchase is on the horizon.....make sure you keep us updated on that too - we'll all be cheering you on for both the EF & FTB.Three months of my wages would be £4200 but with my OH's income we are aiming to save £9300 togetherAlso can I ask which type of account you save your EF in? I have some of mine in current accounts (club lloyds/TSB/Nationwide etc) and some in regular savers (N/W, club lloyds monthly saver/TSB monthly etc),depending on the interest rate.
If you can get it in an interest bearing current account, you'll normally get the interest paid monthly so you get to add that to the EF too as you go along. It's kept away from my spending account so not to get mixed up, it's all about meeting the criteria but if you can do that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Ahh thank you that's a really good idea, when we've officially bought the house I'll look for a new account that has a decent interest rate! Especially if its one that gives you cheeky money to sign up with them hahaGoals for 2017:- [STRIKE]Complete purchase of house[/STRIKE]

Dogbooks - WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME, it's so lovely to have you here....I've put your Target as £9300, I hope that's okay...Do come back and let us know how you get on....I don't tend to use Savings Accounts as the Interest Rates are so bad...so I use a Terramundi for my Savings.... xXx

Glad to hear you're feeling better Dreamer. Sickness is just the worst.wegle - I've Updated the First Page....You're doing BRILLIANTLY!! Keep on going....How are you now after the Operation? We are always here for you hun xXx ]
I'm absolutely fine after my op. I actually have recovered much quicker than I thought so that's good news. The other good news is I finally managed to sell a bit of baby stuff that's been in the shed for ages and made £40 this weekend. Gone straight to the emergency fund pot so I'm up to £462.22 (#74) Woo hoo!
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend. We had a bit of drama when my son fell off the bottom step of the stairs and twisted his ankle. We had to go to the minor injuries clinic out of hours for the Dr to check him over in case they thought he might of fractured it. Luckily the Dr was confident it was just a sprain and after lots of cuddles and some magic medicine he seems to be back to full running around and causing mayhem today.0 -
Thanks DreamerHelen
Glad you're feeling better and hope you have a lovely weekend with the family!
Wegle- thank goodness no broken ankles involved, children magically recover so quickly haha! Well done with the £40!
I'm on a countdown til payday (10 days!) before transferring any money into savings- I've got about £580 currently left but have a hen party/ a trip to Yorkshire to pay for first.. aiming for about £300.00 to save this month!Goals for 2017:- [STRIKE]Complete purchase of house[/STRIKE]
- Save emergency fund- £1200/ £9300
