Cheap Flights to New York

silverjet seats are all identical... places to avoid are near the toilets, and galley, as the noise can be disturbing on any plane...
other than that.. it is one class of service which is business class..0 -

Can anyone beat the price I've found for NYC 09/08/08 - 19/08/08 flying from Aberdeen happy to change anywhere?
Through Kayak.co.uk it's £525 flying with BA. I've searched for the same week in September and it comes out at £336 with KLM which seems a much better deal. We're undecided about going in August or September but the cost of the flights is going to probably be the deciding factor.
Thanks!
hi there... sure, i can help...
cheapest i can find in august from aberdeen is £334, but that is departing on the 24th onwards.. £334 really does seem the cheapest with KLM/Northwest
other options include, GLA - NYC @ £301 on the same dates...0 -
Thanks for the reminder but I don't intend lugging everything around with me! I have arranged for some things to be sent to me at the hotel we're staying in for the first few nights, will leave things with them til we get back from the cruise. You have to do it when a) can't get some things in this country (is there a board for mad Yankee Candle devotees like me :rotfl:?) and b) the price is so much better too!
Only question I have about Silverjet is, are there any tips on where best to sit and where not to sit? Afetr paying for this so my OH can finally relax for once, don't want to sit in the one place we shouldn't, thereby marking ourselves out as 'first-timers' (apart from obvious next-to-toilet seats), thanks very much. This is me :j, good thing we're leaving soon as my OH may well have had enough of me by then!
my preference is about 3 or 4 rows back from the front ...you'll need to decide whether you want window or middle seats .....if you sit on the left hand side outgoing you've got a great chance of the spectacular views of manhattan >>>dependant on runway used etc ...the common flight path to newark is following the hudson river down to NYC ....hence on the left good chance of the views.
as silverjet is one class you don't get any of the brinkmanship you get with other multi-class airlines

franklally.. that came to light the day after the discussions, that we were having on here. it is a difficult choice, the company has said they are wanting to, and currently are, still flying their routes.. fingers crossed they get the money they need, as they are a reasonably priced bus class service..0

you don't know how gutted i feel making the recommendation i did ....i based it on the announcements of the uae funding (which has now been described as "the cheques in the post" scenario )
when i heard the news i just hoped that janewatts tickets would be ok as it's so near to departure date.....i genuinely didn't care about my own bookings because the situation will resolve itself one way or the other in the next few days i'm sure.....i'll then have enough time to make alternative arrangements (even though i'm reasonably tied in to one flight to EWR which will cause some problems but i'll worry about it all if or when it happens ).
so hopefully jane you'll be alright
if the worst happens the customers should get their money back
real shame if it does happen because this was such a good airline product.....see reviews on airlinequality0 -
