[Deleted User].. No, i've never had the chance to fly Air India, however, for a one way ticket, its a good price..

be warned though, if you're flying one way, and you're going on the Visa Waiver Programme, be prepared for some stern questioning, unless you have an onward flight out of the USA

cvw55 - best price i can find is £345 with US Airways, changing at Philadelphia.

Hi guys...i've booked accommodation for my girlfriend and I for new years in New York....cheapest flights I have found were £335 on Virgin, should I go for these? I know there's posts talking about the waiting game but this is new year so could be a bit tricky?

I agree it could be tricky-likely not to be the outward flight that is the problem if you leave it later but the return flight as it's mega busy early January with the Christmas as well as the New year travellers all returning at the same time. You'd probably need to be travelling on/after 5 Janaury to wait for a better fare.
£335 including tax for Virgin isn't bad at all although you may do better if you are more flexible with your airline. AA is around £10 pp cheaper for example

I and my OH want to go to NYC in October half term (last week in Oct) for 3 or 4 nights. Is it best to look now for flights or nearer the time?

couple of years ago we got october half term tickets for a very average cheapy price and only booked those 6 weeks ahead, we flew half way through the week, still not sure how we got such cheap tix especially as the flight was full with people heading out for the marathon lol

bear in mind the open skies policy. I read the other day that by september we could well have some low price wars....at least that is what I am hoping for as hoping for a nyc trip for my birthday in october lol

Hi guys, further to my post above, I have found an amazing website for students....it is called studentuniverse.com, and thru it I am getting tickets to NYC for over new year for just £285 per person! If you're a student, use it....if you're not, unlucky!

    Hi

I'm looking to go to New York in May (around 19th/20th but I'm flexible) from a London airport. I've been looking for a good deal on flights and can't seem to see anything for much less than £350 (except Flyzoom). Is there any chance the prices will come down if I wait until nearer the time. I was hoping to pay @ £300 - or am I unrealistic?

What's wrong with flyzoom?? Not being funny - just wondering as am considering booking with them. Thanks

Flyzoom don't have a particularly good reputation - just type Flyzoom reviews into Google and you will get an idea.

I'm sure people will come along and say they had a great flight, and all airlines will have problems at some time - which is true, but I'm not sure I want to chance it.

best price i can get for any time in may, (you don't say how long you want to stay for) is £338 for 22nd - 26th

£338 also, if you wanted to go on the 19th for a week, flying with air canada, changing at Montreal
