how long is a piece of string..
i always say that if you're happy with the price, then its is your type of bargain.. if you want to see if you can pay less. then wait.. if not.. buy it...0 -
Londonlad35 lots of questions for you. Hope you can help. We leave on the 13th
so getting excited already.
How was the weather?
Also are they very strict on luggage allowances. Worried that 20KG is too
little for all the shopping I am planning to do in NYC.
Londonlad35 I assume you landed in Newark. How did you get from the airport to Manhattan if thats where you were staying?
Flying back how long before flight departure do they close check in?
Thanks
Hi - fraid I cant help as I wasn't flying to Newark, but with regards to luggage, we did self service check-in using kiosks at the airport in the States, they didnt seem to check the luggage, though check your entitlement as it may be 2 pieces per person?
Have a great trip - I will be using Northwest Airlines again via Detroit.0 -
Markymoo l hope you are having a great time.

Out of interest.... Were you on a 757-200?
The reason I ask is that last week I found myself on a NWA early 1980s 757-200 flying transatlantic, which raises the queston..... Bargain flights, but at what cost? The MSE Dictionary

Hi there. The US sectors were on 757's yes. But the Gatwick - Detroit sector was on a (rather new looking) Airbus 330 - 300. Clean modern furnishings, decent sized personal tv with on demand mvies (loads to choose from), audio channels, create your own jukebox, games etc etc. I think from April the Gatwick flights revert to a 757, as Northwest put their A330 on from Heathrow but I might be wrong. As good as the British carriers in my opinion.0 -
Im looking to go to New York maybe mid July for my 30th, for about 10 days-2 weeks, but I'm open to other times as Im looking for 2 cheap flights, but maximum comfort. Also willing to go for a different month, if the price is right, ie June maybe.
If anyone could help that would be great.
Cheers
Laura
Oooh, if anyone has any advice on maybe how we would go about going to the likes of Boston while we were there, and other places on the east coast I would be very greatful0 -
is it that wise to go july/august,i am looking around 22nd july but on this post it seems it might be too hot and humid especially with teenage kids with me
anyone else been this time?0 -
I've been in July - some days were really hot, others it tipped it down with rain but generally it was fine for sightseeing, just don't overdo it and make sure you take a drink with you.
I'm going back this year - still waiting for the magic 3 month rule to kick in0 -
Janice how much did you pay for a flight in july, about to book a flight for two weeks in june for £335 (direct flight flying virgin) and wanted to know if this was good price ?0
-
I haven't booked yet for this year as I'm waiting for prices to come down under £350 - last time I went was 2003 and I can't remember how much I paid then.
I'd be happy with £335 but then I'm quite cautious!0
