is there a screen scraper for long haul? were you can put in a wide date range?
My sons a programer and I didnt think there was one about so asked him if he could build one. If there isnt one.
    What would be good features?

kayak is already around, which gets a wide range of prices from a wide range of airlines... also, i use travelocity, which does a + - 3 day range

does Kayak allow you to put in wide date ranges? or set dates
I was thinking more like a couple of months range for the cheapest price
Would it be of any use ?
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

kayak lets you put in flexible dates a couple of days each side, however, i know when i'm booking my NYC flights, i know what month i want to travel, so wouldn't use such a wide search, as a few months...

flights are normally available 330 days before take off...

however, cheap flights are rarely available straight away, view my guide to booking an NYC Holiday, (link on page 1 of this thread) and you'll see that there is something i call the three month rule, which can sometimes help you in getting a cheap price... :)

  • Hi guys and gals,

wander if anyone can help currently in process of booking tickets to 5 adults flying from london to new york (birmingham is closer but london is cheaper)

    Dates are : 31/05/08 - 14/05/08 (not very flexible 1 +/- at most)

Cheapest flight I found is £389 with delta, however was told £330 via another airline but no longer available.

I originally was looking at 30/05/08 - 15/06/08 and found £308 via airfrance from birmingham (which then jumped to 323 and now 500ish) and have found £329 via gatwick but am trying to find a similar price for the above dates.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

travelling on a friday/saturday doesn't make it cheap!!!

    31/5 - 14/6 - £331 with NWA (travelocity) is the best i can find...

give it 2 - 3 more weeks and you might get better prices, its still outside of the 3 month magic window... :\

    Hi,

I'm going to NYC in June. Hoping to travel 7th-14th or 28th June -5th July.

I've found Fly Zoom to be very cheap, does anyone recommend any other carriers who can offer similar prices? I would appreciate any suggestions at all.

if you read the guide to booking an NYC Holiday, which is on page 1 of this thread, that can give you some good hints about flight prices, and good times to book..

remember that flyzoom is a Low Cost Carrier, and not full service like BA, US Airways, Delta, American Airlines etc etc etc....

also, you might find their prices reasonably similar to full service flights, when they release their cheaper bucket fares...

what price have you found already with zoom?

    Mark, you seem very helpful!
I would like to book tickets for NYC in July/August this year, for 4/5 people.
I'm quite open on when to go in July/August, wanting to stay for about a week, and so want the cheapest flight.
When in July/August is it the cheapest?
    Thanks

I have found so far, US Airways, 9-19th July, £350 return inc fees. Would like cheaper.
