I've searched kayak, expedia and travelsupermarket (links here) but only found a cheapest fare of £323.49

Hi sorry to be picky but wanted a direct flight - as there for a short time - and thought zoom only have flights on fridays and mondays - and wanted to leave on thrusday, to have the xtra day.
Any other suggestions would be greatfully received.

if you want a direct flight, you are going to be looking at more expensive. Zoom is a LCC, so you do get bargain flights through them at times...
5 days is a standard NYC trip IMO, so spending a couple of hours changing planes isn't that big a deal...
remember, don't state JFK, you may get better bargains flying into EWR or LGA, also, don't state LGW, you may get a better price using LHR... these things MUST be taken into account when searching for cheap flights. Limit yourself to a set day, set airport, and set times, really limits your price scales..
Here is some food for thought..
Dates / Price / Airline / Airports
30/4 - 5/5 - £281 - CO - LGW-EWR (1 day longer)
30/4 - 4/5 - £296 - CO - LGW-EWR
30/4 - 4/5 - £304 - VA - LHR - JFK
so, if you slide your dates by 1 day back, you save £27
if you slide your dates by 1 day back, and stay an extra day, you save, £42 (not enough to warrant the extra night in the hotel, but it is a thought!)
hope that is helpful. .

Hi has anyone any advice for me, looking to fly to NYC, but based in Belfast so realise direct is available but not worth the premium. Looking for two week return flight leaving from the 28th of June up to roughly the 3rd of July. So far I'm getting prices from London for circa £360. Whats the general opinion here, do you think will the prices come down?
TIA.Nice to save.0 -
have you tried aer lingus from DUB?
they sometimes have some good options, i once flew from MAN - DUB - JFK, on a nice priced fare. I know recently that they haven't been up to scratch, but it is worth a search.. also, you clear immigration in DUB, so saves time in NYC...

I've found flights with Virgin for £577.40 return for 2 adults. These are by far the best I've found. BA are £20 more. I've not flown with Virgin before.
Should I grab these now?
Any recommendations for flight times? I've got a choice of leaving JFK early morning and arriving in england at 7pm meaning I can go to work the next day - or the evening flight (9pm i think) arriving in the UK early the following morning.0 -
flying out to NYC, always get an early flight, then you have most of the afternoon / evening.... flying back, its normally a night flight... thus ending up back in the early morning of the next day...
i've never taken an early morning flight back to the UK, its personal preference, you'll probably still be jet lagged if you try work the next day anyway...0 -
Please help
Planning to travel to NY on the 14th March and returning 20th of March.

Hotel booked already.
Need flights preferably flying out in the morning and flying back in the
evening.
I have been quoted 475pp on Air India and thats too expensive. Can anyone
beat this please
Have now booked thanks0 -
is there a screen scraper for long haul? were you can put in a wide date range?
My sons a programer and I didnt think there was one about so asked him if he could build one. If there isnt one.
What would be good features? If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Hmmm... easter weekend innit.. thats why they're expensive... and flying on good friday!
i can find the air india flights at £413 (book through airindia.in)
don't shoot me here... fly a day earlier, come back a day earlier, and you can get direct flights for £290!
thats £123 cheaper. each, thus being £369 cheaper in total
or - fly with NWA (1 change), and i can find flights at £231.60 each, but again, flying thurs - wed, rather than fri - thur, this saves a whopping £182 ea - or £546 in total...
the above 2 were found on travelocity.co.uk
speak to your hotel, and get your reservation slid a day... but with the amount you're saving, you could book an extra night at the hotel, and scrap one night you already have booked, and you could still be saving..
as an aside, this is why you should always get your flights and hotel at the same time!!!!
hope that helps..
