  • Hi, am looking to go to NY in from 18th June - 30th June or therabouts. Most prices are £340 apart from Zoom. Am I likely to find anything cheaper and is Zoom that bad? I'm a student so would like to get cheapest flight poss as I will have to fork out for a visa as well. When will other sales be on? Seems silly to pay so much when I went to Hong Kong for £349 last year.

Welcome to MSE - are you sure you'll need a visa? Check the USA links on the Travel Index (at the bottom), in particular the Visa Waiver Wizard which may help.

About the NY flights, check markymoo's guide to Booking an NYC Holiday and of couse the Cheap Flights article :)

I'd use AA and get 15% off for mastercard holders (by quoting master at ticket office/excludes taxes)...

That said if I wasn't getting extra discount I'd weigh up whether I preferred the superior entertainment offered on Virgin (and to a lesser extent BA) or the extra space offered by AA which has a greater seat pitch!

15% off and better seat pitch at aa? hmm sounds quite appealing.

I think the entertainment may out weigh the seat pitch though. I will wait a few months then bring then cost into account aswell

    Thanks polarbearit
  • Does it say on the website about this 15% off? Which ticket office would this be?

    I don't think I need a visa - yay!

AA no longer has any better pitch than anyone else... maybe by an inch or so, but not that much...

If the prices are the same then:

    Virgin

    AA

    NEVER BA

Whilst the seat pitch isn't as good as it was, AA are 1 inch wider than BA/Virgin and 1 inch longer than BA - I could certainly tell the difference!
