Well done Noodle06. A result!!
Wow.........things must be changing, as I've just had a call from OLF, yep they called me, to say a highly qualified technican will be calling to inspect the colour tolerance.
Maybe they read this forum
Let's hope he's not colourblind!!!!!!!!!!0 -
ok.. so to follow up - we purchased a big sideboard after we'd ordered a load of the Alto furniture. It arrived but had a chip in a corner. I did all the photos ect, put it online and they did nothing.. until I phoned them up and harassed them a little.
Eventually, we were offered a new one (they didn't care that we'd destroyed the boxes) or £100. Since the damage wasn't that large, and in an obscured area, we opted for the money.
Here's a BIG BIG TIP. Don't use their 0845 number.. go to http://www.saynoto0870.com and search for their land line number.
Don't get too hung up on the delivery times - firms like these always take ages0 -
They do Colourblind, they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well done.0 -
Studied all these threads before buying a dining set from this company and so was praying that we wouldn't have any problems. As it happened we had two, six months apart. Each time I dreaded making the phone call and each time I was stunned by their efficiency and helpfulness. I have never dealt with a better customer services department. Sounds corny, but true. I can't recommend them highly enough. All companies should aspire to this level of customer service!0

Well...........finally had an so called expert technician call to inspect the furniture. The guy said he can't comment regarding the furniture nor can he discuss how to resolve the issue. Apparently it's against company policy........uh. What a waste of my time, took the morning off work for his 30 second visit which resulted in him taken one photo and leaving.
Back to square one. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time to get the packaging out of the garage and they can have the lot back.
I'll spend my two grand elseware0 -
After giving it a few days for OLF to digest the experts report I thought I better give them a call as they never ever phone you back...... This time I spoke to someone who was human and seemed very switched on. Sadly I don't think he will be working there for very long as he managed to arrange for a replacement unit to be delivered in record time and in perfect condition which seems to go against the grain of OLF's usual waffle.
It's been an exhausting month or so but we finally got there. Just a shame that they didn't except what I, the customer was telling them.
By the way, the furniture now looks beautiful.0 -
Hi I ordered shabby chic dining table six chairs and a sideboard. Ordered 8th Jan 2011 arrived 28th April 2012!! Over the past 4 months I have noticed paint coming off furniture poor finish on chairs with splintering on sideboard. Unable to open one drawer and two doors on sideboard. Basically customer service gave me a complete run around. I was told I could choose new furniture from the show room when I did this I was then told by a manager from swindon that the technician said there was nothing wrong with the furniture then afterwards I was told by a customer service member that I had refused him to do any work! This guy came from Wolverhampton at 7.30 in the morning which took him two hours to get to Chippenham!! I have now been told that they will not change my furniture. I have been in contact with Trading Standards and now have to ring Consumer Direct to find out my rights!! What a shower of a company! My advice, keep an eye out for faults and don't put up with shabby workmanship. Reject it as substandard! Also anyone thinking of buying from this company - don't bother!!CheltBloke wrote: »Hi,
I've just taken delivery of 8 chairs and the oak table (with the free mirror). I'm not fussy but have double checked everything and all of it appears to be absolutely fine. The only niggles I have is that:- the delivery was nearly an hour late. However the delivery guys pre-phoned me to apologise
- The so-called sales are virtually on all the time, so why call them a sale? I know certain other companies do this, but it does peeve me.
- Some corners on the chair could have been sanded more. They aren't rough at all and will certainly not splinter, but they are slightly sharp.
- APR Rate if you fail to repay in the interest free time is rediculous. Okay it's not like the pay day lenders and it's simular to most other companies, but nearly 30% is still rediculous, especially when BoE is 0.5%.

Yesterday had a large order delivered.
8 boxes. 4 boxes contained damaged goods.
Yes 50% of the order is damaged.
So put it all back in the box (not easy) and phoned this morning.
They quote the small print to me. I need to send them photos of the damage and then they will decide the course of action.
So I need to get it all out of the box again.
And they helpfully reminded me that they will not accept goods back if the boxes are damaged.
Verdict: When they get it right the quality is good. But their customer service is rubbish. Avoid oakfurnitureland.co.uk0 -
