I simpatize with a lot of other fellow purchasers.
Watch out when you buy from Oak Furniture Land. They have not kept the contractual promise to deliver the goods on the week agreed. We bought wardrobe and chest drawer in mid May and we got told we may get them at the end of September... when promised for mid August. The customer service has not been helpful; totally untrustworthy!0 -
We bought four items of furniture from OFL in February and received it in June of this year, we did understand and agree that this timescale would be fine as it had been advised beforehand.
We purchased and PAID IN FULL at the time of ordering, a Baku light mango double bed, two three drawer bedside cabinets and a four drawer chest of drawers.
Bed had a massive crack in the headboard, marks in several places and the fittings we not alligned properly so very difficult to assemble (in fact the guy they sent round to assess the damage took a mallet to it to secure it properly as he said it is not repairable anyway)
One of the bedside cabinets bottom drawer wouldnt push in properly, in fact was over an inch sticking out, the handle was seriously squint, the chap told us this was laughable.
The chest of drawers wasnt too bad just pins showing at the top, so wasnt acceptable as could be seen however we let the chap fill them and it dowsnt look too bad, but can be seen if you look for them.
Ok we called them, we sent the images (lots of them) and they had the nerve to offer us £30.00 discount to keep them ARE YOU MAD!!! we paid nearly a grand for this furniture all we want is what we paid for it, not damaged stock. We demanded replacements for the two items that we wouldnt / couldnt accept repairs for. We liked the furniture in the showroom, this is why we just wanted the exchange and goods we paid for. We were told that it could take a further six weeks to get the replacements, long story short they turned up.
Bedside cabinet had a big chip out of it, and the bed was full of marks down the side and the fittings at the front were very substandard, bed supports were already assembled (first bed they werent) bag with bolts etc were in a already opened plastic bag with a bag tie wrapped round it. We mailed them again, they didnt reply we repeatedly called we were on the phone for in excess of 15 mins without getting through, after trying on multiple occasions and not getting through or getting replies to our emails we thought we would take the chance and call the sales line and low and behold we got through straight away, we spoke to the chap on the phone who offerred us £20.00 off to keep them NO we want goods we paid for in the condition we should expect for spending nearly £1000
So just to end this post :- Bought and paid for four items, three were damaged, we received two replacements both were damaged.
Waiting another six weeks now for replacements for the replacements, we requested that these be checked for damage before you send them to us, their reply was "but that will take longer if we have to check them" you have to laugh dont you. So OFL it is easy to come on forums such as this and say you customer service and product control is groundbreaking etc when in fact it is not, I tell you something though if you are reading this, if the next two replacement items are not in perfect order we will be getting a full refund for all the products we purchased and will be pushing for compensation, you may have a smile on you face thinking yeah whatever, but now the good lady is not dealing with this now I am, my job of thirty years gives me access to deal with this type of dispute on a daily basis, so if the next replacements are damaged then we will be taking this further as we think we have given you every chance to resolve our issues.0 -
I took receipt of a double bed on Friday which only needed 8 bolts, amazingly enough they only sent 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were PROMISED that the missing bolts would be sent and arrive Saturday, silly me for believing them. The customer services were not rude but just didn't care, they had been sent, allegedly, and that was that. It really doesn't matter that you take time off and organise things around the delivery and assembly including the dismantling of the old bed framework.
When the bolts eventually arrived, upon checking they turn out to be completely the wrong size, shape, etc.
I have just been spoken to by the 'supervisor/manager' on the phone as if I was the village idiot! But surely if you know what model bed it is then you know what type of bolts are required. I was very sensible and left the conversation with the condescending little pipsqueak before I lost my temper. He also told me I would receive a phone call from the 'spare' department and that I should listen to him as the question he would ask is not a stupid one.... Der.... Would it be what sort of bolts do I have sitting in front of me? Well, still waiting for that phone call.
I had to point out that I had not received a reply to TWO e-mails or a proper apology. Sign of the times I suppose.
Well, time to go to the C.E.O. now and see how we get on there
I have used the company before and have had a problem before and the lass I dealt with then was fantastic and helpful, I assume she has been sacked!
Let' see if I get this phone call, let alone the right bolts.

Without Prejudice
'CAVEAT EMPTOR'
I have recently had an appalling experience with OFL and would NEVER buy anything from them ever again and I would never recommend them to anyone not even my worst enemy!. In fact I would strongly discourage anyone from shopping with them.
My sorry story was that I purchased and paid for a dining table and 4 chairs. Delivery was good but nothing else was. The table was damaged with a big dent in the surface and 2 of the chairs had faulty leather seats.
I went through the farce of emailing photographs and surprise heard nothing from them, so I called them this would appear to be their trick as its an 0845 number!
During the call OFL actually stated that it was 'their statutory right to repair the items' now call me old fashioned but it is also my statutory right to decline a repair which I did and politely advised that I would accept either replacements or my money back.
OFL still continuously argued that it was their right to repair and to send a technician to repair and being a generous person advised them that they could send a technician to my house to repair the table providing the technician at the same time brought replacement furniture for the damaged items as I would not accept any repair. For some unknown reason they were not happy.
At this point OFL's customer services got absolutely ludicrous by saying 'at what point does a tree get damaged when you cut it down' why this statement was made and what this has to do with replacing furniture I have no idea.
I put a similar scenario to OFL by asking if a brand new car was delivered to them but was badly damaged with the chassis bent but that the manufacturer stated they would repair it would they accept the car. A categorical NO was the answer, but they expect customers to accept their repairs!
They would not replace the furniture so I gave them 7 days to collect which they did.
3 days later money appeared in my account but not the full sum it was £14.95 short which I am still trying to get from them, it seems that I may have to refer this to Trading Standards who will no doubt think ' oh no, not another complaint against OFL'.
All I can end with is 'Caveat Emptor' or 'LET THE BUYER BEWARE' or better still 'DO NOT BUY AT ALL'! (sorry I don't know the Latin for this)0 -

The more people who complain the sooner we may be treated as humanoid customers who have saved and paid good money and expect good service and usable products. Fantasy land again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
yes i have used twice. it is good indeed.0

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.
Will never deal with them again.
Accused me of being colourblind as one of the items was, according to them, within acceptable tolerances. Completeley different colour and supposed to be a matching set!!!!!!!
Just booked an appointment with the opticians for me, my wife, my son and my neighbours just in case they are right!
Customer service an absolute joke.
NEVER AGAIN, EVER0 -
I have had a morning and a half! Bolts arrive but another problem arose but guess what...............................
RESOLVED, and how generously too!!!!!!!!!
My outcome has been very acceptable and nothing to do with a certain e-mail address I am sure.
I wish you all luck and hope your outcome is as fair and acceptable as mine.0
