Anyone used www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk?

We purchased 2 item from their new Solihull store, when they arrived the colour waxing had not been fully completed. We rang and complained and sent the requested pictures only to receive a phone call saying that they thought that it was acceptable and if we read the aftersales details they recommend that the customer should wax the furniture on receipt. The items should come fully coloured then waxed - asked for money back lets see how long that takes!:

CLEARLY SECONDS

We have recently purchased 3 items directly from the website, and clearly these products appear to be seconds. The damage is not enough to have most people returning things, but obviously enough to annoy and upset a lot of customers. Our experience has left my pregnant wife on a camp bed while i try to get a replacement bed! Our other products are just about ok, with small knocks and dinks or odd shaped braces which no doubt will be called 'rustic'! but clearly products that have not pass others quality control. I will keep people up to date so others can decide to buy or not , looking at the posts here, they should be used to customers complaints!

Went and visited the showroom today in Bolton after doing a search on the internet and marvelling at the massive discounts (+6% Quidco!). The products look pretty decent but after reading all the reviews on here i'm not going to take the risk. It seems the old adage still rings true about if something seems too good to be true... Does anybody have any good experiences with any other websites selling quality oak furninture? Somebody mentioned Direct Interiors and they're top of my list so far.

We're about to order some furniture from OFL, but I've been holiding off until this weekend, hoping that there would be a bew discount code to use on their website on top of the 6% Quidco:)

In the past there seems to have been loads of codes but they have all now expired:(

Does anyone know of any codes that are still valid or does anyone think there will be any more codes due out soon??

Among the 2 percent of less-than-happy feedback a similar theme to my experience unfolds. Everybody else is happy. I remain suspicious while the company allows my own situation to remain unresolved, naturally.

We bought our kitchen table and 6 chairs from them. We've had them for about 3 and a half years now and are very happy with them. The table is really solid - as are the chairs.

I find it strange that most of the negative comments come from newish members or ones with very low post counts. Surely they haven't all just registered to post their dissatisfaction?

They search the web, find the thread, then register and comment.

Think that explains the "newish member" element.

Hi I came across this thread when I was just about to purchase with oak furniture land and I am so glad that I did as I had been saving for my little girls bedroom furniture for some time. There seem to be a lot of negative comments in respect of this company.
Needless to say I did not buy with them based on this and purchased off another company of similar name: Oak Furniture House. Anyone looking to buy of this company will be very pleased if my experience is anything to go by. The furniture arrived in the specified time and when I emailed the company to enquire and to say thanks they replied in no time at all thanking me for their custom. I am 100% satisfied with this company and highly recommend them.

:mad:I bought an Oak Coffee table from them in December 2011 having bought sideboards from them in the past which have lasted well. The table came well packaged but was damaged-chipped, scratched edges and a general rough finish in parts. After some discussion we agreed to keep the table for a modest reduction as we could hide the worst of the damage by placing on a deep pile rug. However over the last few months numerous significant splits have now started appearing on both sides of the table and along the top which we cannot ignore-you can fit a credit card into them. Contacted customer services today and was asked to send in photos which I duly did only to be told that there was nothing they would do as I had "not waxed it and had accepted compensation for initial damage". Having read some of the previous posts on here and elsewhere this appalling response and attitude from them was not unexpected as they simply dont want to know. Suffice to say I would never recommend or buy from them again and will be taking legal advice!!

My partner and i ordered a sideboard from Oakfurnitureland on the 16 Feb and was told four weeks for delivery. We then got a phone call a week before it was due to be delivered to say it had been delayed and delivery would be 28 April. My partner has since called back to complain about the length of the delivery time but found the sales staff to lack customer service. We have now cancelled our order and would not even consider shopping with Oakfurnitureland in the future.
