I bought a coffee table from them a couple of months ago which was ok.
I then ordered a lamp table (waited approx. 8 weeks for delivery) that arrived yesterday. I immediately realised it didn't suit the room so emailed to ask for a returns number and the reply was that it was going to cost £50 under the T&C of their 7 Day no quibble money back guarantee.
I'm not interested in their 7 Day no quibble money back guarantee as the product is covered by the Distance Selling Regulations - 3.22 onwards). I can arrange to have it sent back by courier for approx £11 (insured) so that is what I will be doing.
Any hassle at all and I will just refer it as a disputed transaction to the credit card company. I think the £50 "return charge" could even be described as a (illegal) penalty charge for a customer having the cheek to return any of their goods.
I returned the item using InterParcel (who were very good, fair play). 5 days later a full refund has appeared in my account.0 -
I have been looking at this site for the past few months now as I was thinking of purchasing a complete living room set. However their prices go up and down like a yo-yo on steroids.
One item I as intereseted in was £329.00 which i'm sure it was that price before the sale even started. Their WAS price was £797.00, two weeks later their WAS price went up to £876.00
Then I have just checked it again and the have put the sale price up to £349.00 since last week, (in the same sale)
It's not just one item, they have done it with most, if not all items.
I can't trust this company. Its a shame because the items I was looking for would have suited me perfectly.0 -
New to this malarkey but felt I needed to share.
We have used Oak Furniture Land on several occasions and bought the following:
Order number 1.
1) Mango wood bed
2) 2 matching bedside drawers
3) Matching 4 drawer chest
The bed arrived damaged. Took photos phoned them and emailed the pictures. Whole bed was collected and replacement delivered within a week.
Outstanding quality, solid and stunning.
Order number 2.
1) 2 solid oak side tables
Outstanding quality, solid and stunning.
Order number 3.
1) Mango wood wardrobe
2) Solid Oak Coffee Table
Table had obviously been dropped on its corner by carriers. Took Photos, phoned and emailed. Collection and replacement within 2 weeks.
Order number 4.
1) Solid oak 3 drawer console table
Outstanding quality, solid and stunning.
We are now about to order another set of Mango wood drawers, another coffee table, and a dining table and chairs with no qualms whatsoever apart from we have too many rooms to put furniture in!!!:D0 -

Would I buy from oakfurnitureland....No
Why?
They have the most stupid logistics route ever conceived...What's that mean I hear you say...
first they open warehouses in different parts of the country...Manchester...Brentwood...do they fill these with furniture...No.
Instead they load vans up at their warehouse in Cirencester, then they are driven to the other warehouses...
The next day, a driver picks up the van and does the deliveries...
This sucks....why?
Firstly oakfurnitureland use agency drivers (expensive)
and as said above drive vans from cirencester to regional warehouses (Greater fuel costings)
So who gets to pay for the extra fuel and agency drivers...take a look in the mirror. hmmmm.
And if your item of furniture is broken in transit, obviously the driver cant just go back to the local depot and get a replacement...cos the bloody depot's empty.
And given the number of people complaining about broken furniture, they can neither load the vans properly, nor strap the items in properly...
Boxed items should be checked before loading...what's the point in sending out broken furniture...you just cheese the customer off.
So no...I wouldn't buy furniture from someone with a logistics plan as stupid as oakfurniturelands.0 -
I bought a solid oak coffee table last month and it is absolutely beautiful, the quality and price are excellent, one other comment, the service I received was excellent, they were good on comms keeping you informed at every stage when you could expect delivery, and the table was well packed.I highly recommend this company, I will definately use again.0

I bought a sale priced mango wood chest of drawer just before midnight on a Sunday and the item was delivered on Friday morning. Both the company and their courier kept me fully informed and even gave me a 3 hr delivery slot....rare these days. The chest arrived on time, well packaged and surpassed my expectations by a mile.Delivery was also free and the couriers delivered to my room in our 1st floor flat...many couriers charge a high fee and will only deliver to the threshold. The chest is solid..so different to the flatpack stuff I thought was all I'd be able to afford.0

I haven't used Oak Furniture Land, but have used an exceptional alternative: http://www.oakitashop.co.uk/
We have a gorgeous dinning table and chairs, delivery and quality brilliant.
They sell both direct from their website, and also via Ebay. Is cheaper to buy direct.
For reviews, check out their ebay site, they have over 1,000 very good reviews: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/oakita-co-uk/0 -
I ordered in January and was given a delivery date of 2/3/10. That past without comment and all emails to their sales/enquiry ignored for last 8 days. Very disappointing attitude to customer care once they have your money.0
