Plusnet is not LLU. They use BT equipment.

If they're not LLU at your exchange then yes they're offering their Connect service with BT equipment. Avoid that like the plague as it doesn't have a good reputation.

Sky line rental does include Caller Display.
Thanks, thought so.When I went to TT years ago, not llu, I was strangled by BT.
That's made moving a lot harder now:(. That's probably why she asked if I had a BT line, when I said TT , £20 connection charge applied , then waivered.
Primus is llu, you are with them, any reason not to consider them?
Been so long with TT, no experience of others.
    Thanks for reply.
edit;;sorry they are llu, it didn't fully show it yesterday.

BT equipment was never good for me originally. Back in 2010 I had Virgin BB but decided to try O2 on LLU as I didn't need so much with family moving out.

O2 gave me around 6mb compared to BT's estimate of 3mb or less. O2 then were bought out by Sky so I had a year with them. Moved this time last year to PlusNet and have been getting 6/7mb so BT's equipment has been upgraded in my exchange. No fibre yet at my cabinet although it's in the exchange.

ADSL BB has its problems especially with noise and distance from the exchange. I also have another issue on incoming calls causing a dip in US SNR - fortunately not dropping the BB. PlusNet can't get BT to fix it - they say the line is stable.

So I'm moving. Sky's LLU equipment "might" solve the issue - I hadn't noticed it last time but I wasn't checking as much.

Virgin BB will definitely solve the issue as well as being much faster. I've just picked up a great offer of 50mb BB and weekend calls from Virgin - with LRS it works out at about £14.50pm for a year - 12 months contract. Can you get Virgin?

Might seem daft but I'm going to move my normal phone number to Sky with their free BB and run both Sky and Virgin for a year - I need to see if this issue with ADSL is solved with Sky and I want to test out Virgin to see if I do get the actual speeds quoted.

It was obviously a BT line first of all so shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks jem, edited last post, SKY is llu, misread data, and I can get Virgin.
It was a BT line first, before I had BB.
Grandson works for Sky, gets rest of the family half price deals, but they have the full whack which I don't want.
The Sky on TCB at £84 and £50 M/s voucher looks good.
    haven't looked at Virgin yet
.So I can transport my number,to sky, don't want to lose it if possible.?
I'm getting 14mg down and1mg up at present
    2 providers. glutton for punisment:rotfl:

You should be able to but check with Sky. TalkTalk can be funny about releasing numbers but really shouldn't with an exBT number.

Can't your grandson get you a half price deal on LR/BB alone?

Pretty good - you must be closer to the exchange.

Hi, just half a mile as crow flies from exchange.
    Grandson would do ,if possible.
I will ask him this weekend.
They always come to me, so, goes against the grain, me asking for anything from family.
    I'm of the old school.;)

Just looked at Virgin , £12.99, for 9 months, and anytime calls included.Up to 50 mb.then jumps up, + £16.99 LR.
    That seems costly.
I'm in unchartered waters, so, looking at all angles.and never used cashback sites, so treading wearily.
Do not want to go from frying pan into the fire:rotfl:

That wasn't the deal I've gone for. It's a uSwitch deal at £5pm for 12 months - 12 months contract. I also got a £50 credit by using VMVOU50 code. So if you choose to pay LRS at £166 then it works out as £14.50pm for the year with weekend calls. Anytime is another £8pm.

However you might get Sky cheaper with a family deal from your grandson and 14mb speed is fine. Normal price with Anytime would be £25.40pm.

That's good, what you have, even at full price at £24.50 pm,with anytime , matches TT 's new offer of £16 LLR+£7.50, for 6 months, then £15 thereafter, so £31pm after 6 months. It's a nogo..
I need LL anytime and any uk Mobiles , as OH lives on the phone.
I hate them, always on here.;)
Sky don't do LLR upfront, unlike TT, and Virgin, which you seem to say they do at £166?? which is good,( if I'm reading you correct) TT is now £191.
14mbs does me for what I require,.
will see what g/son says, but, with tcb £84 and m/s £50,if possible, ?
looks like the deal for me? at present.
It's just knowing when to jump ship, and switch.?
