    Good morning preciousillusions,

I'll try and answer your questions one by one :o

We wouldn't charge you the cancellation fee if you moved house before your collective tariff had finished, this would only be charged if you changed supplier.

I don't think applying twice should be a problem, it'll be picked up by the guys working the collective switches.

If your credit history is really bad, we may ask for a deposit before we'll offer any other ways of paying. This is something you can speak to us about when the switch has gone through.

Your Broader Group application is linked to the address and account number on your application. Therefore if you move house before you receive the discount your application will be closed and we will not be able to provide you with a discount. If E.ON supply the electricity at your new address and our scheme is still open we would encourage you to re-apply using your new details.

You can still apply for this.

I hope this answers everything you need :)

    Helena

Thank you so much for this, you are a star! All really helpful :).

It seems I have been accepted for the tariff. Reassuring to know about there being no fee if I move house (though assume I'd need to sort out a switch for the new property prior to moving if I did) and also about the warm discount scheme which I have now applied for with my new account number as sent to me via e-mail today. Very happy!

How quick did other people get their switch tracked through Quidco? Mine hasn't done so yet and worried it's because the whole applying applying twice thing? Or do they just need to now verify I have an account with them if I used the right link the second time, anyone know?

If you're on the MSE collective switch this really isn't worth switching to if you'll lose out on £30. I just calculated mine and it said I'd save £27 a year but when I calculated it it was only £1.80. This is that 'personal projection' stuff so if you didn't switch then you'd pay x amount over the next year (load of rubbish in my opinion for switchers). So if you are on the MSE collective switch I'd recommend you stick with it unless someone confirms you'll still get the £30.

Edit: The electricity is exactly the same price and the gas is a teenyy tiny bit cheaper.

We're not going to get a definitive answer on the cashback, but:

    1. Nothing in the T&Cs says you have to stay with the tariff for any length of time to receive cashback
    2. The cashback comes from MSE; how are they to know whether you've changed tariff?
    3. MSE haven't posted here or in the other thread about this saying that cashback will NOT be paid... Which leads me to believe that it might be.

It's a gamble, but I think it's worth it... Even if you lose the MSE cashback you'll still get the cashback from Quidco or TopCashback which is almost as much and you COULD end up with both.
  • Surely it's in MSE's interest to let us know, otherwise they won't get their £30 if you switch before they get paid? Yeah I guess if you use Quidco etc. it might be worth it, personally I don't use those sites but I take your point.

I've made the decision to jump from EHL EON deal to this USwitch deal - done thru TopCashBack gives £29.40 and I calculate I'm saving ~ £70pa vs current tariff -this balances out the increase in the early exit fee from £10 to £60.
I still have this nagging feeling that EHL will probably launch a slightly cheaper EON tariff next week................:D:D

I will be saving only £7 a year but will I lose my £30 bask back from MSE I'm still waiting for that to come my way . . .

I'm waiting for my £15 from MSE and Dan from MSE emailed me to say if I try switching again now I would probably not get the £15.

I recently switched about a month ago I think it was to the MSE collective switch sept,

I was tempted by the new eon October deal until I saw the unit rates, sadly it worked out around £30 extra the unit rates were slightly higher than my current deal,

and as other have said I would have lost out on the cashback aswell

as anyone received their £30 for switching yet from MSE switch, (I know it says 3 months before) just wondered if anyone as actually got theirs paid out yet unlikely I know

    Hi all

Following your queries around cashback, we've followed this up with Eon to get clarification on the process.

In terms of background, the cashback is funded by the switch referral fee which Eon pays to MoneySuperMarket for a successfully completed switch via Cheap Energy Club.

If the switch referral fee is paid, then you'll always receive cashback, irrespective of if you were no longer on the tariff you switched to.

Cashback takes on average around 3 months to get paid, but Eon have told us you don't need to be on the tariff you originally switched to, for it to confirm the switch as completed. So you should still get cashback even if you switch again.

(However if you originally switched to the MSE tariff then cancelled in cooling off, to then move to uSwitch, you wouldn't receive cashback through MSE).

I hope this helps to clarify things.

Did my first meter read today on iPad , amazed it would only accept the first of 2 meters . Gas ,would not accept Electric.
Is it a first meter read glitch . Perhaps it will take Electric tomorrow .

If anyone else has this problem Don't Worry Gas was up and running, but Electric will take another day or so.

Thanks Dan, hopefully it all comes through then.

Edit: Just had my MSE collective switch confirmed so cashback should be on the way and I'm free to switch again :-)
