  • Hi youravinalarrrf

That's right. Usually, we'll use an estimate for the changeover date. This will be based on past usage. The exception is where we've readings for the actual day. They will, though, need to have been used on a bill.

You can do this online through the 'Real Time Billing' tool. If you enter readings, you'll have the option of seeing the balance they'll result in or creating a bill. To create the bill, please select 'Request a Bill.' The only time this won't happen is if the account's in what's known as the 'Billing Window' (14 days either side of the bill date for quarterly billed customers). Here, the first time readings are entered within the window, a bill is automatically produced.

    Malc,

Not sure I'm understanding the E.ON "thinking" behind why the reading provided needs to have been used on a bill?

How is me providing a meter reading for the date of the uSwitch application as an existing customer any different to you requesting me to enter a meter reading on your system for the transfer as a new customer?

Surely an actual customer read for the date in question (whether it's been billed or not) is far better and more accurate than you using an E.ON "guesstimate" particularly where the customer is a relatively new customer where only one or two reads have been entered online?

I entered my reading for the date of the uSwitch application a couple of days ago and did not choose the "Request a Bill option" as I did not see the need for it at the time. I can see no way on your online system of requesting a bill for that reading after the event.

Anyone else a bit confused as to how this is classed an a collective tariff? I thought a collective had to involve a registration process where only those people can switch to the collective tariff?

This tariff seems to be available to anyone who hits the results table... Either way this tariff is a lot cheaper than every fixed tariff on the market so I'm not complaining.

    Hi POPPYOSCAR

At the moment, we're looking to complete tariff switches to the uSwitch Collective within 10 working days. Sorry this is taking longer than the MSE Collective switches. You won't lose out, though. It'll be backdated to the date advised on the email from uSwitch.

Once done, we'll email to let you know and your online account will update to show the new tariff on the right hand side of the first page. Hope this helps POPPYOSCAR. Let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.

    Malc

    Thank you.

    Still a bit confused.

As I said I did the switch on 15th. New tariff is now showing on account from 21st. Received bill dated 22nd not showing new tariff.

Will an adjustment be made on the next bill backdating the switch, and if so will it be to the 15th and not the 21st?

Also our account is over £500 in credit can we request this back as a refund?

    Morning POPPYOSCAR

I've actually emailed a colleague who is dealing specifically with these collective switches to make sure I get this right.

So I'll reply and confirm properly.

But as Malc says, we'll make an adjustment or re-bill back to the date of the switch advised on the email.

Regarding the credit on your account, I'd suggest leaving some of it on the account just to cover you through winter and larger bills, but as you've billed up to date of course you can request this back.

I'll be back as soon as I can. :o

    Thank you

  • I've rung Eon to query the gas meter reading we sent when we joined and they have now opened a dispute. We are £258 in credit with previous supplier EDF and Eon say it will take 4 to 6 weeks to sort out.

I have to say we have never had a problem with EDF's customer service but have in the past had a dreadful battle with Scottish Power. I just hope Eon are not as bad. I gave them a current meter reading which is still way below the one they have sent to EDF......

I requested the switch from EHL EON tariff to USwitch EON tariff ~ 13 days ago. My account is now showing the switch, backdated to the request date, about 7 days after I had the confirmation that EON had received the switch request.:T

    Good morning motherofstudents,

It sounds like everything that needs to happen is happening, from your post the dispute will be an agreed reads dispute or (ARD) this is what's raised when two suppliers need to re-agree some meter reads.

It takes the time as it's all done electronically, but I know it's a bit frustrating.

I'm here to help though if you do need me :)

Thank you Helena, yes it is frustrating but somebody did phone me to say they had sent the correct readings through so hopefully it will get sorted out soon (fingers crossed)
  • Malc/Helena,

I'm an E.on customer and my V9 plan comes to an end tomorrow (29th October). Based on my expected consumption as an Economy 7 user, the USwitch E.on Fixed 1 October Collective Oct 15 tariff indicates that E.on does not emerge as the winner when I enter my prospective data for the year ahead into the USwitch calculator.

However, when I repeat the process pretending that I'm a single-rate user (as opposed to a double-rate Economy 7 user), the USwitch calculator shows that the USwitch E.on Fixed 1 Collective Oct 15 emerges as the overall winner and indeed beats the calculation referred to in the first paragraph above by some £35.

My query is that even though I'm on Economy 7, can I save myself an expected £35 by requesting the single-rate tariff rather than the Economy 7 tariff??

Hoping to receive your reply prior to the expiry of the deal if possible please, which I believe to be 3rd November.

    Morning safe cracker

With us you can be on a single rate tariff or Economy 7 tariff, even if you have an economy 7 rate meter, so you can choose.

I can't really give much advise on the specific savings via the comparison site, as this is a third party site.

I can say to always use your usage in kWh when doing comparisons though, as this makes it much more accurate :D

If you need me though, just ask.
