I/we need a new lower price Fixed 1 Year Collective deal fast! ;)

Extra Energy have just beat this deal (for electric only) by £33 per year plus £15 cashback for me with their Bright Fixed Price Jan 2017 v1 deal.

To be fair wild horses wouldn't drag me back to Extra Energy but is there anything on the cards in the very near future?

    Morning youravinalarrrf

I'm afraid we're in the same boat as you. We're only told about new tariffs at the time they're launched. The current offerings are listed on our website which I'm sure you've seen. Our website is also the first place to be updated with new deals so best to keep an eye on this as well as the comparison sites.

    Sorry can't help more youravinalarrrf.

  • Malc,

Would E.ON have had the annual consumption readings I gave to uswitch when I used that to switch to E.ON? Reason for asking is I have just used the "Find our best deal for you" link on your site and the daytime figure shown is 7171kWh (I gave uswitch 4425kWh). The night figures are higher too as is the percentage of daytime (78%). Given I gave uswitch the annual consumption figures for the last year on 3 Nov 15, and supplied reading to you on 17 Nov 15 these quoted figures are miles out. I see readings taken yesterday by a meter reader (for electricity) show on the site.
Are the readings shown based on the difference between the readings I supplied and the meter readings yesterday? And do I simply not have enough history to be accurate?

    Morning savetilibleed

I suspect you're right and we're still waiting for certain pieces of information to come through.

The quote we gave you when you first applied to switch would've been based on the usage details you provided to uSwitch. We'll have used this information to work out the cost of energy for the term of the contract and to set the Monthly Direct Debit payments.

As part of a change of supplier, we receive information from various industry bodies via a series of electronic messages. These include details of meter readings and usage at individual properties. They send us what's known as the Estimated Annual Consumption (EAC) - sorry to use jargon. This is based on the usage history for the property. Its accuracy will depend on the number and frequency of actual meter readings given in the past.

Following a switch, this and other messages come through over a period of weeks. As your move completed only recently, we may not have all the information yet. I'm guessing, but I suspect the relevant usage details haven't been fully updated and you're seeing an estimate based on the property type/region etc.

Once all the information is through, your online account will update to better reflect your ongoing usage. I'd check again in about a month. Pop in up to date readings and the information should've updated by then to better show the actual state of play. Going forward, the more readings you give the more accurate the account/billing/usage information will be. This can be done online very quickly.

Sorry I'm speculating rather a lot here savetilibleed but hope this helps.

Well it's taken a while, but my £30 QuidCo cashback has finally been paid.
