Thanks! Gone ahead and signed up, I see the option to "save £70 year by switching to DD" on my Eon online account so should be no problem setting up later if it's not.

    Hiya Futuristic,

Sorry I'm a bit late replying to your questions, I can see you've had a bit of help from the guys on the thread :D

Just to assure you, as you're basically doing a product switch, your smart meters will stay smart.

You can only change on to a collective tariff via the website or club that is offering this, we can't offer the tariff directly from us (E.ON)

I'm not a fan of the term Fixed Direct Debit and prefer Monthly Direct Debit. The payment amount can change if your usage goes up or down, so it won't be set to one amount and not change. You can also adjust your own Direct Debit if you feel you need to by using the DD manager tool via your online account.

"save £70 year by switching to DD" We do offer an adjustment in your standing charges to have a Monthly Direct Debit, it's £35 per year per fuel.

I hope this helps a little, just shout up if you need me.

Slightly similar query here. I note that the contract is for 12 months fixed with £30 cancellation fee if you opt out early. I literally moved into my flat yesterday and applied for this eon plan via uswitch today after finding out it would save me nearly £700 annually from the current supplier here which is Spark! My tenancy here is 12 months and I hope that I will be here the whole time, plus the even beyond that if it all works out. However if I do leave after 12 months, due to the fact it takes up to 14 days for the switch to confirm, would Eon really charge me £30 if I had to cancel literally a week or so early? Maybe a representative here can advise?

Another thing, I just realised I accidentally went through the sign up process twice as my computer was being glitchy! (new broadband also installed today! Also don't think quidco tracked first time) Should I contact Uswitch or Eon directly to cancel one of these requests!

I am also slightly worried I'll be rejected entirely based on the credit check as have a poor rating :(. How likely is that? Hate it as I am entirely responsible but simply don't have much credit due to undertaking a DRO which was over 6 years ago and so wiped off record by now but still means my score is very low. Hoping as well that due to the mistake of applying twice they won't credit check twice and so lower my score even more!

One last question: are applications for the warm discount scheme still open and can I apply if accepted as a new customer? I was actually on a pre-pay Eon meter at old flat and applied under that address so can I just switch over the details or do I need to make a new claim and cancel that one? I am included in the broader group for eligibility.

Sorry this was so long! Any advice on any of the above much appreciated!

    Good morning preciousillusions,

I'll try and answer your questions one by one :o

We wouldn't charge you the cancellation fee if you moved house before your collective tariff had finished, this would only be charged if you changed supplier.

I don't think applying twice should be a problem, it'll be picked up by the guys working the collective switches.

If your credit history is really bad, we may ask for a deposit before we'll offer any other ways of paying. This is something you can speak to us about when the switch has gone through.

Your Broader Group application is linked to the address and account number on your application. Therefore if you move house before you receive the discount your application will be closed and we will not be able to provide you with a discount. If E.ON supply the electricity at your new address and our scheme is still open we would encourage you to re-apply using your new details.

You can still apply for this.

I hope this answers everything you need :)

Can an EON rep comment if we switch from the MSE collective EON deal to the Uswitch EON collective deal, will we incur exit fees?

    Morning csgohan4,

No we won't charge you the exit fee, as effectively you're just changing tariff.

We'll only apply the exit fee if you actually change supplier, before the end of the contract.

Hello. I just moved to another flat last week and I am on a British Gas standard duel tariff which seems extremely expensive. I am looking to switch. This EoN USwitch Plan is shown on my comparison site as the cheapest.

If I apply today, when will I be switched and start paying new tariff? will I be charged an exit fee if I move the flat in 6 months, for example, or disconnect if I have to move out of the UK? Thanks.

hi, can the EoN representative respond to my questions above please?

    I'm so sorry I missed you :o

    Hiya pumen,

I can't say if you'll be charged an exit fee by your current supplier, this is something you'll have to ask them.

If however, you change to us then move home, either within or outside of the UK we wouldn't charge the exit fee, it only applies if you actually change supplier before the contract date has finished.

If you initiated the switch today through USwitch, your supply would be with us in around two and a half weeks.

    Hope this helps.

Our Eon account is currently in our joint names.

There is nowhere on the switch form to put both names.

Also do we have to complete the new direct debit and cancel the existing one?

    Hiya,

You can just put the one name down, this should be fine and won't change the names on the account.

You can also just leave the Direct Debit as it is, you don't need to cancel and start a new one.

Did my first meter read today on iPad , amazed it would only accept the first of 2 meters . Gas ,would not accept Electric.
Is it a first meter read glitch . Perhaps it will take Electric tomorrow .
