john lennon airport jla vehicle control services vcs

lent my car to somebody last month to drop somebody else off at john lennon airport, they did so by pulling over at the side of the road. you guessed it, the parasites otherwise known as vehicle control services ltd mailed the registered keeper (me) an invitation to part with funds, which has been declined.
i have sent the standard soft appeal in to vcs, waiting for their appeal denied letter to come. after it comes i will appeal to the morons that call themselves the ias so that vcs need to part with 20 quid.
if by some miracle the ias uphold my appeal i will post details. if not, i will come back for advice if i get invited to appear in court.
as I've said in the past, great forum, thanks to all who make it happen.

forgot to mention, if I don't get a vat invoice out of them within the next couple of weeks I am going to report them for suspected tax evasion.0

did you put in your appeal that you where not the driver ?
any way ... here is a little light reading for you re the 'friendly' JLA
it is part of my standard post on JLA threads
there is a little debate on the forum about how to handle PPC's who are aligned to the IPC , the standard forum advice is to do the soft appeal but not bother with the kangaroo court at IAS
my thoughts .......
The scammers that infest some of the smaller airports are in cahoots with said airports as its is a (allegedly) mutual financial arrangement ....
Go back a year or two and you would win this at a POPLA appeal ..... however in the world of PPC's they can create another trade body (the IPC) that have a (again allegedly) kangaroo court  (the IAS) The IAS seem to treat appeals as a lottery 80%+ loose irrespective of the evidence.......
you therefore can (after reading the below) choose to follow the forum advice ,and ignore .... or in IMHO do the appeals as a paper trail.
VCS did try out their first small claims court case over such ....and as predict that they pulled out before the trial ..... . They did not dare try placing this before a real judge! and have not yet tried again ..... I wounder why ?
Please do not let this put you off ..... read through some of the below for background information ....

Never mind the standard, (now mainly discredited), advice, take the sensible advice and appeal all IAS cases.
Come on CM, revise your post, you know it makes sense.oYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
yeah ralph-y I told them I was not the driver, I also told them I have evidence to prove it, which I may use in court (which is true, I was more than 20 miles away at the time of the alleged contravention). they're not having the evidence as part of my soft appeal, if they really want to see it i would prefer it in court.
i agree with the deep regarding ias appeals. its the procedure and it costs vcs 20 bills.0 -
Offer it to them for the cost of a PoPLA appeal. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

It will be interesting to see what sorry excuse IAS can come up with .......
as the driver is obviously you cos they said so
keep it up ......

There has been an IAS appeal victory in which actual evidence of the keeper being elsewhere was presented in the appeal.
Might be interesting to see if they'd do it again. Even if they don't, they'd be presenting you with a document they certainly wouldn't want to find inside a court evidence bundle.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
haven't decided yet manxred whether to include my evidence in an ias appeal, maybe it would be a good idea to do so and try and get this thing finished. but I would also be perfectly happy to go to court with these scumbags, the debt collector letters along the way won't bother me one bit.
that successful ias appeal you mention is the one I have copied and tinkered with already for my case. just waiting for the vcs rejection now.
yes ralph, i'm sure ias will reject on all the usual grounds. I will post their response for your amusement when we reach that stage.0 -
How much evidence do you have? You can always submit some to the IAS; just enough for them to try and worm out of it by claim it's insufficient or unclear or just doesn't matter. Then provide the rest should it get to court (which it won't).0
-
not a bad idea herzlos, i'll think about that while I wait for the vcs appeal rejection. as said previously, I was more than 20 miles away and could not have been the driver, it is easy for me to use evidence from various sources including witness statements.
we'll wait and see what kind of mood i'm in when I submit my appeal to skippy and co.0
