MSE News: TSB current account customer? You can now earn even more cashback

I spoke to someone a few days ago when they called me to check my credit card was working well for me and they said they havent heard of any issues with the contactless card failing, she did say that you will be asked for you pin when you get to transaction 10 in the day. I find I can only get to three before it fails or asks for a bank security check.
she suggested that I get a replacement card which she has ordered for me as she said its strange that it only allows three contactless transactions.
Was suggested that I keep the card seperate from other contactless cards as they can 'discharge' themselves if they are put in a bundle in your purse/wallet.
I now keep my card separated by material in my purse but I have just chucked it in the back with a pile of other cards (mostly loyalty cards) in the past this could have caused a problem??
You're similar to me then in roughly every third transaction being an issue. When I spoke to them they mentioned that limit per day before had to enter pin is 5 transactions or £60, whichever comes first.
I'm not convinced their card discharge theory is correct as never had a problem with any of my other contactless cards which have been kept in my wallet same way as TSB cards and never had one fail.0 -
I will see if it continues when the replacement card arrives....
till then I am awaiting last months cashback from my contactless spend, when I asked the same adviser I was told they are in process of paying this out in batches, as there is no rhyme or reason to when it will be paid but will be sometime this month....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. And yet another weird glitch. The contactless payment I did yesterday in B&M has just showed up as Chip & Pin.0

Does anyone know how refunds work with Contactless cards and the TSB cashback? I take it a refund can't be generated using contactless (can it?) so does anyone know if a refund would decrease the cashback? If so, would it be the month of the original transaction or the month of the refund?0

Yeah TSB told me at present when you look at transactions it doesn't specifically identify contactless but apparently it is something they are 'working on'.0 -
Okay,
At the moment when I use my account contactless I record it on YNAB as contactless payment, and on those occasions when I have to enter my card or use the pin I record those as a miscellaneous payment, so I am able to see when I have used the card for £100.
I received my new TSB card today so lets see if I can get more then three transactions contactless for failing or asking for 'bank security check'I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. 2 transactions 1st
2 transactions 3rd
2 transactions 9th
asked for PIN today.
Yep, I've done all of my transactions at the same store, usually less than a tenner each.
The other day, in the same store, again for less than a tenner, contactless less was rejected and I was required to insert PIN.0 -

So what are they planning to do inm the meantime?
Pay 5% cashback on every debit card transaction under £30 (up to the monthly limit)?0 -

As I don't think there is any way in the refund process that the bank can tie a particular refund (which may only be a part refund) to an original transaction, I can't see how in most cases they can deduct cashback if you get a refund. i.e. it might be a refund from an original transaction that never got any cashback.0
