Hi, Anyone know if Asda accepted contactless payments?0
-
Was just in Asda last week using a contactless card. No contactless installed yet, I had to put in my pin.
Contactless shops I know of and used so far are; Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Iceland and M&S.The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -

Asda have the contactless terminals but have chosen to turn it off. The parent company Walmart seem to have something against the technology as they have turned it off in the US as well.
Occasionally you'll find a terminal in an Asda that still has it on, probably because they forgot to turn it off.
It probably has something to do with the fact their making their own mobile wallet application and don't want people to be able to use competitor products like Apple Pay.0 -

Add Boots, WH Smith, Waitrose, Sainsburys, Coop, Post Office, Tescos, TFL, BP and lots and lots more.
You can pay contactless wherever you see this symbol:
Barclays have a handy looking contactless-finder: http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal/pay-with-barclaycard/findretailer - though on second look, they don't seem to show a complete list.
Don't forget that if you have an iPhone 6, you can register your card with Apple Pay and pay with your phone.0 -

Apparently there are some astronomical charges involved in displaying the contactless symbol in your store. While I'm not sure how true this is, I read that Curry's recently upgraded all their card terminals and specifically turned the contactless off to avoid having to pay to advertise that they took it. Given their ATV will be way above the £30 they obviously didn't consider it a useful offering...0 -
I might be missing something obvious but I can't see anything on the TSB website about this. I don't doubt it's true but would feel better if I could read the Ts&Cs and actually see mention of it somewhere in my account.
Can someone show me where the information about this can be found on the TSB website?0 -
It appears that TSB told the Press but never their own website team. AKA shambles.

I was thinking this. I also don't want to be walking around with a card with 2K on it.
If it materialises, then I'll request contactless from TSB and get a Nationwide FD to move the savings to.
I can have a Nationwide FlexDirect and a FlexPlus at the same time, right?0 -
