Apparently there will be leaflets about the offer in Branch from the 7th. Nobody in TSB I have spoken to has the first clue what the T&Cs are, although some said the offer is live now. Others said they don't know anything about it, and one TSB CS person just told me categorically that there is no cashback when using their contactless card. She has confirmed this with her manager, too, lol!

24 x 7 CS is on 0345 975 8758. May be one of you good people will have more luck to get any sense out of them.

Just as well John Lewis doesn’t do contactless (as far as I am aware).

If they did you would have to find a way to split your £1,500 spend in to 60 transactions of exactly £25. Then you would need to make four transactions per month from each of your household’s 3 Classic Plus accounts. All for £75 worth of cashback. :D

I shall look out for shoppers wielding TSB debit cards in future.
Swap queue straightaway. Let somebody else stab her in the back, driven mad by the delay.

"is it £30 yet? Oh dear, could you take it off and put this on instead?"

    Wetherspoon's takes contactless.

I bought a pint of real ale today priced at £2.15 (although I think they still do £1.99 for some, unless the prices have gone up recently). My 50p CAMRA voucher brought the price down to £1.65 and using the TSB card will mean I get another 8p back, so my pint is £1.57 as opposed to £4+ in may other pubs. I'll make use of the encouragement to drink more ale!!!

  • When replacing the money spent on the TSB card, will this need to be done on the day the transactions are made or when the amounts clear the TSB account?

    To maximise interest received etc.

Technically not until the amounts clear the TSB account. But unless the account you'd be using for top-up is also paying interest you have nothing to lose by topping up as soon as possible.

The other account is unlikely to be paying 5% AER though. :) I suppose it depends how much 'work' we're prepared to do for a few pence gain.

Called up TSB to request contactless. The advisor suggested it was a postcode lottery re: their contactless rollout. Sounded strange. I think I'll try in the branch when I happen to be passing it.

Somebody at TSB has now woken up and put a press release on their site: http://www.tsb.co.uk/news-releases/tsb-launches-555/.

I still can't find the T&Cs for the cashback offer on their website. May be I am not looking in the right place.

EDIT: Oh, and this press release isn't for us:
