I have two TSB accounts where both have their own debit cards. So does that mean you could in theory earn twice as much by using both cards?
Yes, in theory. However, since the T&Cs haven't been released yet (did you read the rest of the thread?) no-one can say for definite whether it's per customer, per debit card, or per account.
Having never used these cards before I have managed to unearth both cards but can only find one pin number sheet! I would imagine both cards have different pin numbers?
    So would I. ;)
But as you would only be using them contactless do you need to know the pin number anyway?
I've never used contactless, and always bin the leaflets about it, but I seem to remember you had to make a chip & PIN transaction first before contactless was activated?

I tried to use contactless today and it didn't work. Do you have to "activate" it in some sense before it's usable?

Yes first use has to be using the PIN to establish you are the rightful account holder and in theory there can be occasions where contactless will be rejected and the PIN asked for to rule out or reduce fraud so every whatever times used or a string of uses around various retailers in a short space of time etc etc.

Up to now apart from first use with PIN the contactless has always worked for me!

And the only time when contactless failed for me is when I bought petrol in London via PIN and 5 hours later used contactless in a supermarket in Swansea. So that will be at least one of its rejecting parameters anyway - travelling long distances after using a card followed by attempted contactless.

The press release has the phrase

"For more information and Terms and Conditions please visit TSB.co.uk ."

Which suggests there will be terms and conditions even though they haven't managed to cobble some together yet though!

555 is now mentioned on TSB's Facebook page and on their website -hidden away in the blog. It confirms that full details will be released on Monday, as others have said:

Isn't it terrible when posters have their own life and just pop up on the London Underground.

I guess the prosecution of that notorious Bill Stickers failed. Or perhaps he was given community service instead of a custodial sentence:D
  • 555 posters up in the window of my local branch today, though the branch wasn't open so I was unable to go in and ask about it.

An article from Saturday 28th August about contactless cards.

Article about accounts who don't do it and the places where you can or cannot use it yet.

So I was right about contactless not available yet in Sainsbury's which I previously have mentioned in an earlier message.

Tells you how far behind Sainsbury's are when their minnow competitors Morrisons and Iceland allow you to pay by contactless already.
