  • I applied for this account on the 4th. Got the confirmation mail, "Were processing your Application" but nothing since. Anyone else in the same situation?

So I used my TSB classic plus card in Waitrose just as I have done in the past few days, £12.21.

Rejected three times in a row for contactless and had to pay using PIN using the same card:mad: successful of course.

So TSB how can I get my 5% that I was due?!

So I guess the uncertainty of using the card is all part of the fun, especially when in a queue and you spend up to £30 in expectation of cashback and the card may be refused as a contactless payment.

As you had you used your card at least once before, your card had been activated for contactless.

Are you aware that you might get asked, as part of the contactless security measures, to enter your PIN periodically/randomly when using contactless? [These are quite rare occurrences.]

The TSB T&Cs - unsurprisingly [sigh]- aren't telling us what happens when a contactless transaction was attempted but not completed. I suppose the answer is that such purchases will not count towards cashback.
  • Yes I am aware of periodic refusal, actually its the first time its happened using different cards over several months apart from first or second use.

Its going to cause a feel bad factor for TSB customers though as you may not get the cashback expected, can't see TSB getting around this problem, I've only used the card about ten times mostly in the same supermarket branch. Not the end of the world but annoying as I don't expect to spend more than £100 a month on it, now I will have to spend £112 if it doesn't get rejected again before reaching that figure and of course it will be fine when I spend £2 and be rejected when I spend £30 by the law of sod :D

So if I put £100 of diesel in van , will the cashier put it through as four separate transactions !! . It would be tedious to walk back and forth from the pump to the till five time's.

I doubt they will be able to clear the bill on the pump in more than one transaction.

That was my thought also. Will make for an interesting conversation with the cashier I suppose.
