I know about it. It has been mentioned in a couple of other threads and I'm sure it is listed in the best regular savings account thread. It is not as tempting at the HSBC, M&S and also First Direct regular savers, which are all 6% and between them cover a lot of monthly savings, though if you don't want to open the required current accounts for the others, then it is a useful account to have.
I probably will take advantage of Tsb's too, as I have the A/c's already.0 -
I Just wondered if others knew of the new TSB one at 5%, as no one had mentioned it on here.If that's a question?
It was only info, not a question, for Colsten.
Did you know about it.?
I had asked what the "HSBC et al 5% regular saver" you mentioned was as I had only ever heard of a 5% monthly saver at TSB. You have now confirmed that TSB is indeed the only 5% one you know of, and that neither HSBC nor "et al" do offer a 5% regular saver.
The TSB Monthly Saver is not new at all, even if some utterly confused TSB Marketing bumf were to call it 'new'. The account has been listed for months in the Regular Savings accounts thread over on the savings board. Mine has a balance of £750 now, so it has been available for at least 3 months.0 -

I have the other A/cs,but, not First Directs, as I have Hsbc ones, which, if I'm correct, I cannot have both, as they are the same?0

ImcorrectNo, you are not correct. You can have accounts at HSBC and at FD at the same time. Countless people have been doing so for years.I too have both First Direct and HSBC regular savers. They are not the same. The T&Cs are different (for example, the FD account lets you save £300 per month) and the two banks are separate legal entities. Your use of the term "the same" in this thread seems to be very haphazard and is clearly causing some confusion.
Yeep we could have both. I myself has been doing this for ages .....0 -
You have two TSB plus accounts with contactless debitcard.
Just wonder, in case you have maximize your cashback earning on one account in one particular month.
Could you still get the cashback if you are using another TSB plus account in the same month/ time period to double your maximum cashback potential ??
Appreciate if someone could point out official documentation, ads, or leaflets as well.
Thanks0 -

The documentation does not rule this out. So assume you can get the cashback on both accounts.
Edit: Actually the documentation confirms this - see condition 2.2 in http://www.tsb.co.uk/plussest/555-cashback-terms-and-conditions.pdf0 -

How can you tell if it goes through as a purchase?
I've asked for cashback once at a supermarket and it came out with the shopping on my bank statement (not seperate) of that means it came out as a purchase?0 -
1. I have not tried cashback using contact less in the supermarket.
Is it allowed ?
I haven't tried but am under the impression that anything to do with cash will require the pin. Smile excludes cashback from contactless in their FAQ:
