Didn't really want to create a new thread, but when did TSB remove their requirement of direct debit requirement for their 5% interest current account?
The TSB Plus never had any requirement for direct debits. I don't think any other TSB account did, either - are you sure you got the right bank?

Does the cashback offer worth with any outlet?

Also, we normally use about £50 to £60 in petrol per month but this could easily be split to get under the contactless threshold.

Does anyone have a list of petrol stations that accept contactless please, as this would be an obvious way to use a reasonable amount of the £100 per month for me? If Esso does then that would be a real bonus, as I could use this in conjunction with my Tesco Club Card to enhance the saving.

Does it work with any outlet? (predictive text with a lisp?)

Yes, it should work anywhere you can use contactless.

I've been using this list to figure out where I might be able to use contactless.

Don't think it's a complete list as I use contactless at my local Co-Op. Although Co-Op Pharmacy is on the list the supermarket does not appear.

I'm going to see if I can use contactless for petrol at my local Morrisons + there are Esso/Texaco petrol stations near me with a Co-Op store attached. When I've used them it has always shown up on statements as Co-Op so I'm hoping they will do contactless.

Morrisons accept contactless in all locations so it will work there.

I noticed that some contactless payments take several working days to appear on my transaction list. For instance, purchases I made on Sept 3 (Thursday) only registered on Sept 7 (Monday). Others are a bit faster but I have as yet not seen any that registered on the day of purchase.

This means that if you want to make use of the full £100 each month, you should probably make your purchases quite a few working days before the end of a month.

I'd be surprised if Asda appeared since they don't accept contactless and Tesco only do so in a limited number of stores.

I did a contactless purchase this morning in an ASDA store in Charlton - London using my TSB contacless debitcard. It might not apply to all stores ??
