I've been using this list to figure out where I might be able to use contactless.

Cheers. I must admit to having never heard of Chop'd and Wasabi. BTW, what on earth is J D Weatherspoon?!!!'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.

Rejected three times in a row for contactless and had to pay using PIN using the same card:mad: successful of course.
So TSB how can I get my 5% that I was due?!
So I guess the uncertainty of using the card is all part of the fun, especially when in a queue and you spend up to £30 in expectation of cashback and the card may be refused as a contactless payment.
Used my card yesterday again in Waitrose and it was accepted contactless. Used same card today in Co op where I used it contactless last week and it was refused on two attempts. Had to enter PIN and immediately accepted.
So refused for contactless on two out of last three uses but accepted with PIN.
Getting disappointed with this offer. Called in at TSB and got some flannel culminating in advice to ring number on back of card and request a replacement card as it may be damaged, its only been used 11 times and not showing any damage.
Also blamed the retailers card readers possibly at fault. Maybe?! Maybe this contactless is not as good or reliable as its supposed to be.
I'm now going to takenin both my TSB cards to retailers and if one's refused try the other. Hard work but there is a fiver at stake:cool:0 -

I don't expect contactless to work with any pay-at-the-pump station, because they need to pre-authorise/validate the card before switching on the pump.
...unless anyone on here tells me otherwise.0 -
Well, this is must be how the TSB is funding its cashback scheme. I've just had a letter saying my grandson's Young Saver Account is changing its interest rate from 3% to 1% in November.0

Spidernick wrote: »Does anyone have a list of petrol stations that accept contactless please, as this would be an obvious way to use a reasonable amount of the £100 per month for me? If Esso does then that would be a real bonus, as I could use this in conjunction with my Tesco Club Card to enhance the saving.
Used my TSB contactless in Morrisons petrol station this morning.
Worked fine but limit is still £200 -
Add Timpson to our list of retailers taking contactless payments.0

I did a contactless purchase this morning in an ASDA store in Charlton - London using my TSB contacless debitcard. It might not apply to all stores ??
I found an article from a few years ago saying they had introduced it in 25 stores. Perhaps it's one of them. They've not committed to a full roll out unfortunately.0 -
I bought a few bits in the Coop yesterday and wanted to pay contactless with a card that I had used just the once, for a contactless payment. Contactless payment got rejected and I had to use chip & PIN.
The cashier was kind enough to cancel the entire purchase and let me do a C&P payment for the smallest price. Then she scanned the rest again and this time the contactless payment worked.
The C&P transaction has been debited from my account today but as yet there is no sign of the contactless amount (£18.96). It hasn't even been taken off my available balance yet.
EDIT: The £18.96 appeared on my transaction list overnight. Current and available balance have been reduced by £18.96, but the transaction date is Monday 14th.0 -
Got my Contactless VISA Debit card today, along with the activation code for the online account. Still need the PIN, and putting some money in the account.
As the petrol is the main deal, I asked around my favourite, i.e. the cheapest, petrol stations.
Sainsburys West Hendon 107.9p: NO Contactless
Sainsburys Watford 108.9p: NO Contactless
Shell Watford 109.9p: YES to Contactless
As I can get 3% on my Santander 123 credit card, and double Nectar points in Sainsburys, it's the same as getting 5% cashback by paying at Shell through Contactless, since Shell is 2p more expensive per litre.
There seems to be a conspiracy not to have Contactless in petrol stations.
I know Costco takes debit cards, but I don't think they have contactless. I get 1.25% cashback with Amex currently. With a £30 limit, I have to do two bills for the weekly shop, which they are used to.
Well, let's hope it's just early days.0
