I've clocked up 5-6 transactions in Aldi with no issues so far, so it must be store-related.

    Yes, it must be.

On a different note, I made two contactless purchases in the same Lidl on Weds 7th; £6 at midday and £19 at 4.30pm.

They both appeared as pending during Friday, then actual payments after midnight. The later transaction is dated Friday 9th, but the earlier one as Mon 12th! Are different tills doing their own thing as well?

All the Tesco's I've been to Woolwich / Beckenham have it...Surprised I'm hearing people finding they don't. What about Self Checkout? that's meant to be the quick queue choice so surely all of them would have the option. Don't know about other ASDA's.
They did a 'trial' roll out of contactless over a year ago in London, but seem to have done nothing since.

I don't know where you get "1st of the following month" from. The T&Cs state...

...So it could be any time during the following month.

Was certain I'd read it somewhere either on their site or on this one, but it's possible I've imagined it then or gotten it confused with something else.

If my TSB contactless fails to go through, I use a credit card. There's no point paying with a debit card if there is no incentive.

There is a point, if the use of a PIN resets the card for the next contactless use.
Many people on this thread have suggested that a PIN may be requested occasionally to prove you own the card.
    But there's uncertainty on this.

I reset the PIN by withdrawing cash at an ATM, or topping up my Oyster with 5p. (although I will no longer use Oyster until my monthly TSB spend exceeds £200 :p)

It is handy knowing where your local £5 cashpoint is located ;)http://www.link.co.uk/ATMLocator/Pages/ATMLocator.aspx

£92.49 so far this month, may have to move on to MrsM's card.

Re some of the earlier comments about failed contactless payments, I have had similar issue with both my TSB Classic debit cards since I started using them in September, in that roughly every 3rd transaction has not read properly and instead asked me to insert the card and input the pin (which then works). Spoke to TSB and they advised me that this was probably because I had not used the cards at a cash machine before to activate them - though I actually had so now they are going to send me out replacement cards. Worth a try but don't think will make much difference given it doesn't seem to be the cards that are faulty (given it happens with both) and it happens at a range of retailers. The contactless cards I have used over the years from my other bank accounts (non TSB) have never failed to read the contactless payment and have used probably at least 100 times. Anyone else tried getting replacement card sent and any luck?

You can request a 'replacement card' - as opposed to a 'lost and stolen' one - an option exists to do so in TSB Internet Banking

I have done so in the past - it seems to take 4-6 days for the new card to arrive.

I spoke to someone a few days ago when they called me to check my credit card was working well for me and they said they havent heard of any issues with the contactless card failing, she did say that you will be asked for you pin when you get to transaction 10 in the day. I find I can only get to three before it fails or asks for a bank security check.

she suggested that I get a replacement card which she has ordered for me as she said its strange that it only allows three contactless transactions.

Was suggested that I keep the card seperate from other contactless cards as they can 'discharge' themselves if they are put in a bundle in your purse/wallet.

I now keep my card separated by material in my purse but I have just chucked it in the back with a pile of other cards (mostly loyalty cards) in the past this could have caused a problem??

Yeah my cards are on their way....rather I meant had anyone who had had similar problem to me had any luck in solving the issue once their replacement card arrived?
