IIRC, it's £30 already in Aldi.
it can differ from shop to shop as the terminals need upgrading to accept £30. The chains are more likely to do this in batches rather than all in one go.

There is a point, if the use of a PIN resets the card for the next contactless use.
Many people on this thread have suggested that a PIN may be requested occasionally to prove you own the card.
    But there's uncertainty on this.

There is no need to spend large amounts on C&P if contactless fails. I would do as the previous poster suggested - use a cashback credit card to pay. Then make a small C&P purchase with the TSB debit card to re-enable contactless.

There is no uncertainty whether C&P is occasionally required - it is. It won't be happening in any regular pattern since a vital part of the fraud prevention is the unpredictability of security checks.

Asda have the contactless terminals but have chosen to turn it off. The parent company Walmart seem to have something against the technology as they have turned it off in the US as well.

Occasionally you'll find a terminal in an Asda that still has it on, probably because they forgot to turn it off.

It probably has something to do with the fact their making their own mobile wallet application and don't want people to be able to use competitor products like Apple Pay.

The ASDA I went to only have it enabled on the self-checkout tills. The manned tills did not have it enabled.

Has anyone actually seen the cashback credited to their accounts? I only see the 5% interest in my accounts but no mention of cashback?

My understanding is that there's no tracking on the account, but whatever cashback you earn in the calendar month will be deposited on 1st of the following month.

Re ASDA, is contactless available at most ASDA stores (even if only at self-checkout)? With Tesco not having it I'm going to really struggle to spend the full £100 in a month. I only spend £25 on petrol and would prefer to spend it on groceries if poss because I get 3% on petrol from santander anyway...

The logic is that Aldi's terminals don't work very well, or not with TSB anyway. I used mine in Lidl, Poundland and Wilko today with no problem, but they both failed in Aldi.

I find Aldi's terminals iffy with any contactless card, they were horrendous with my old Cap1 Luma.

All the Tesco's I've been to Woolwich / Beckenham have it...Surprised I'm hearing people finding they don't. What about Self Checkout? that's meant to be the quick queue choice so surely all of them would have the option. Don't know about other ASDA's.

For petrol, I've been using BP but all of them seem to have £20 limit. Any seen any other garages taking contactless?

That didn't happen so far. September's cash back wasn't added on Oct 1st.

I've clocked up 5-6 transactions in Aldi with no issues so far, so it must be store-related.

I don't know where you get "1st of the following month" from. The T&Cs state...
2.3 Cashback on your qualifying purchases will be paid during the next calendar month (for qualifying purchases made in September 2015, cashback will be paid in October 2015).
...So it could be any time during the following month.
