    please help

Hi Rabialiones - this sounds like it might be a problem with your device or connection.

If you're unable to resolve, drop us an email to energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com and we'll see if we can see what the issue is.
  • The MSE CEC switch deal with E.on is £262pa cheaper than anything offered directly by E.on. Too good to be true?

I'm pretty much certain I'm going to go for this next week but can I just check, I'm currently with Eon with economy 7, but want to change to a single rate, do I just check the single rate box as my current supply as there's no option on the form to change the rate?

    Many thanks.

    Hi Lozz

Yes, if you select single rate, we'll pop you on this version of the tariff when the docs come through. On the account, all we do is add the day and night usage together and charge at one rate. No need to change the meter.

    Hope this helps Lozz.

Hi royston vasey. Just spotted your post. I've replied to another post about a similar thing on a different thread. It's at the link below.

My current supplier is M&S Energy I have got economy 7 and use approx 80% night use
I very seldom change my provider although I have under the umbrella of SSE Was with Atlantic then Go Direct 5 and now M&S for the past 3 years
Doing a price comparison it shows that E-on is the best price by a long way. Saving of £247 on the MSE energy club. Because I am reluctant to change I am always nervous about the situation. It makes no sense to stay with M&S Energy so wondering just how easy it is to switch supplier. I know that some people end up with a nightmare situation. As I am elderly wish to avoid any major problems. Advice would be appreciated

    Hi Susan,

Switching to E.ON via MSE couldn't be easier for you! All you need is a copy of your latest M&S Energy bill and a little time. When MSE asks you for your annual consumption in KWh, use the figures printed on your M&S Bill. This will allow E.ON to use the actual figures of how much energy you use to figure out how much to set your direct debit at. (Paying by Fixed Monthly Dorect Debit will save you £35 / fuel / year). As long as you use the correct figures for how much you use, E.ON will not set your FMDD at an amount not in line with your actual usage which is the primary problem that customers have with a new supplier. If you answer the questions about your house type / heating etc. in order to get an estimated figure for your usage, expect large changes in your FMDD over the first year as these estimates are very frequently hugely inaccurate. Once E.ON has the figures over a year it will normalise. The switch itself will happen fairly quickly. Once you sign up, give 4 (working) days for E.ON to get your details. You will then commence your statutory 14 day cooling off period (these 4 days are part of that) around 14 calendar days after you sign up, call E.ON and give them meter readings for your gas & electricity. E.ON will then give these readings to M&S for them to use to issue you with a final electricity bill (don't worry if this takes up to a month to arrive after you make the call - this often happens). At this point, you will be treated like any other customer of E.ON's 'business as usual'. You are simply on a different tariff to most other customers. You can avail of E.ON rewards etc. etc. As long as you don't mess up the application form (unlikely). Things very rarely go wrong. Feel free to reply if you need any more information :)

  • Hi fredandwilma and thanks very much for the kind words. They're really appreciated. I'm glad it's not just the prices you're happy with but other stuff, like Smart Meters, too.

Hope this helps and thanks again for taking the time to post fredandwilma.

    No probs.

Why would it be too good to be true? It is what it is.

Just an update. Whole switch completed within four working days. I applied on Saturday, new tariff up and running on Monday. The only thing i hadn't expected was the unit rates updated on my smart display. Gas has been updated but not electricity rate. But i hadn't expected them to be updated so soon, in any case.

Come on, you're slacking, EON :rotfl:

I've also received my Warm Home Discount payment which i always receive at the beginning of September with EON.

    Thanks EON

Hi james_555 and welcome to the Forums.

Not much I can add to your post, it's spot on. The only thing I'd mention is, if customers are concerned about their monthly payments, they can keep an eye on things through the 'Direct Debit Manager' on our website. This includes making changes if needed.
