Can someone tell me the rates for gas on the MSE Eon tariff (collective). I can see the electricity prices there but not the gas.
Thanks
Hi Parx
As polymaff says, to see the prices for each fuel on the Cheap Energy Club site, you'll need to flick between the Electricity and Gas tabs. Also confirm, unit prices per kWh differ depending on the region.

I've also been searching for an answer to this question.
I've been with Eon quite a while now as they have been involved in a number of collective switches.
When I switched via Cheap Energy Club (2 switches ago) I'm pretty sure I didn't receive any cashback.
I'm currently on the moneysupermarket collective with Eon, fixed until June 2016 with no exit fees. I did however receive £30 cash back.
Still debating whether to switch again as the prices are the same. I would be extending my fix by 3 months for a £60 exit fee.
£30 cashback may sway my decision.
Hi Gambler
Just to confirm what Shrimply and MSE Dan have posted, customers switching to the MSE tariff through the Cheap Energy Club are eligible for the cashback associated with this offer. This applies to both existing E.ON customers switching tariff and new customers changing supplier. The cashback is paid by MSE through the Cheap Energy Club and not by E.ON.
You're right, the moneysupermarket collective tariff we offered between 18 May 15 and 15 June 15 didn't have an exit fee. It wouldn't have mattered in this case, though, as we don't charge an exit fee for going from one E.ON tariff to another.
Hope this helps Gambler.

I did the comparison and it said that I would be £40 better off over the year.
However my current tariff is cheaper than the tariff on offer, but it expires in April next year and then the comparison assumed I would stay on the Standard rate tariff after April.
Obviously I wouldn't do this because I would switch to a cheaper tariff.
so anyone who is in a current fixed price but expiring half way through the year then the actual saving will probably be less or even negative if you didn't stay on standard tariff afterwards.0 -
Hi E-on Company Rep
I am with e-on and pay bills quarterly, would like to change to MSE switch, direct debit monthly.
1. Would I clear off bills first (might be due an electric one soon), then start direct debit monthly when I switch ?? OR
do they just continue the bills into the next tarriff?
2. In other words, do they read the meters, send bills, clear bills, then start new readings, and monthly direct debit?
3. How do they set the monthly direct figure?

Hello. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I moved into a new property (as a tenant in a rented property) on the 5th and took over the existing EON supply. I set up a new account on that day and was placed onto the standard energy tariff (which seems ridiculously expensive). I decided to go with this new collective switch plan and applied through the MSE site yesterday evening.
I put in all the information as requested and got a confirmation screen at the end, however I didn't get any email to say that the switch application request went through.
Should I be worried? And generally what's the time-frame for this switch to take place? The shorter amount of time I am on the standard plan obviously the better for the wallet.
Thanks!
Hi deanoaka and welcome to the Forums.
Hope the move went well and wasn't too stressful. I posted a bit of information in reply to LesU (post 155 above) that might be of interest. MSE Dan also posted something the other day that could be relevant (post 57).
Basically, collective switches are handled manually. Depending on demand, it can take a few days for applications to go through. You'll receive an email from the Cheap Energy Club (CEC) first. This will be followed by one from us confirming the details and letting you know what will happen next. As an existing customer, I'd expect your switch to have hit our systems within 3-5 working days of you receiving the email from the CEC. It can, though, take up to 14 working days.
Don't worry about being on our standard prices for too long. The tariff will be backdated to the date of the application.
Sometimes, security settings on computers are set high and certain email accounts don't like our emails and dumps them in junk/spam folders or automatically deletes them. Not saying this has happened here. It's just a possibility. Mind you, it would be unusual if this happened to both our and CEC's email. If you still haven't received the CEC email, might be worth flagging this up with them.
Do you have an online account? If you do, have a look at this. Once logged in, your current tariff will be shown on the right hand side of the first page.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction deanoaka.

Hi A Frayed Knot
No need to clear bills/outstanding balance before switching tariff. Changing from one E.ON tariff to another doesn't affect the way your account works.
Also, when going from one E.ON tariff to another, we don't ask for meter readings. When billing, we'll estimate readings for the day the tariff changes. This will be based on past usage. Have you registered with our website? If you have, you can create your own bill through the Real Time Billing tool. Just pop in readings and go for the 'Request a Bill' option. It's a good way to keep things accurate and is something I recommend to customers changing tariff.
You can set up a Monthly Direct Debit online too. You'll save about £35 per fuel per year as we charge lower daily standing charges for paying this way. Monthly payments are based on current prices and past usage with the aim of achieving as near as possible to a zero balance by the time of the annual review. At this time, any credit of more than a fiver will automatically be refunded. A debit balance will be included in the arrangement and spread up to the next review. Similarly, if you go for a Monthly Direct Debit now, any outstanding balance will be included in the arrangement.
To make sure accounts are on track, we check approx every 3 months. If necessary, we'll only make a change at the mid-term and annual points. At the other times, we may recommend a different amount but leave it up to you to make any changes. Before changing anything, though, we'll be in touch by letter/email to let you know. This will be 14 days before the proposed change.
You can also take more control of the arrangement, including changing the payments, through an online tool called the 'Direct Debit Manager.' Comes in handy should circumstances change.
Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, payments can be changed by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before confirming the new amount, we'll let you know by how much we anticipate the account will be in credit/debit by the time of the annual review if payments are changed but usage doesn't alter as expected.
Hope this answers your questions A Frayed Knot. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

The CEC site now offers two annualised calculations covering the two scenarios you describe. One gives the composite monthly if you run off the end of a tariff and then stay on the default, standard tariff, and the other gives your current monthly - which is a reasonable assumption of where you would be if you switch at the end of the expiring tariff. These two mean that you can make a meaningful comparison with the monthly figures of any of the switch-to tariffs you are offered.
Both rely on assumptions but, basically, you are looking to beat both calculations.0 -

Same here, it's been more than 24 hours since I switched but I've had no email.
I just logged back into cheap energy club, and it tells me I have a switch in progress, so I assume they are working on it.0
