FMESS, your right :o I do worry I don't want to work anywhere as I've lost all all motivation and feel tired and fed up all the time, probably linked to emotional stuff I had going on this time last year, which I didn't really deal with. After reading replies on here, it has made me question, do I just want/need a break or do I really want to move on? We will probably be made redundant anyway, but I can cope with that, as it's not of my doing and I'll find something. But my worry of taking this voluntarily is that i'll get stressed not finding something as I'll be under more pressure, because I chose to leave. I think regardless, I will start applying for jobs just to test the market and see how I get on but will probably stay put. Thanks for all you opinions guys :T

  • Afternoon all :) sorry I've been AWOL, I've had the lurgy like everyone else! Clocked up a few NSDs because all I've done is go to work and come home to sleep, so looking forward to having a quiet weekend this weekend. OH is doing a lot of work at the moment (teacher, and it seems like this term is always the hardest - is that true Fmess, or is it just him?!) so I get to chill out a bit.
Think I might have sold him on the heating as well - he's just put a jumper on and said "I'll put my dressing gown on if I get much colder"! I like it when he sees sense :D
Batch cooking tomorrow (chickpea, coconut and tomato soup, mushroom soup, stew and chipotle chicken chilli) so will need to do big shop, but that should be my last spend until payday *crosses fingers*. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

I think this is the worst term. For me it's because it's getting darker and colder. I have the same amount of work in the spring term but as it's getting lighter and warmer, it seems easier!

Just finished my extra paid work so will write up an invoice for that tonight :) Today I am grateful for the opportunity to extra work, the company of my dogs and sunshine - I'm currently sat in my pjs in the garden getting some vitamin D :)

Fmess - lucky you sat in the sun. It is a bit chilly here today, although I think it feels worse inside than out.

applemuncher- I am an emotional shopper too. Hope you get your DD's issues at school sorted out, my DD had a bullying issue when she was in year 1 with 2 year 4 girls that were on her lunch table. One of the girls lives around the corner and I had a word with her mum, she totally blamed the other girl as her 'Danni' would never do anything like that. Guess who turned out to be the ring leader?

DS has been out playing with his friend all afternoon so he should be worn out tonight, DD has spent the day banging things about and wearing a moody face:rotfl:. DH is acting like a clockwork toy that has been over wound and is charging around outside doing lord only knows what - lots of power tools involved though. Oh my he is walking about with an axe now, hope the dog doesn't get in the way.

  • Grrrr.....just lost my first attempt at posting!

    Hi everyone!

Sorry for another absence. I have been in hiding this time sitting on my naughty step as I have done the unthinkable and ordered a new car! After a long chat with DH we decided it was essential for the business. I had 2 bookings on the same day last week and struggled to get all the equipment I needed in my car. If I had an order for the full wedding package there's no way I would get it all in. Now, I didn't order the £18,000 one, I went for a cheaper option, but I daren't tell you how much it was! I have rearranged my budget though and tbh one booking a month would almost cover the additional cost.

In brighter news, I have started uni and have been told about a grant that I am almost guaranteed to get, plus one of the ones I previously applied for has reopened so I can reapply for that.

Have finally got round to listing a number of items on eBay (still have more to list) so that will hopefully boost our income a little and everything is still being thrown at the credit card to get that paid off as soon as possible.

Have made great progress on Xmas prep. Got lots of bargains for little ones using nectar points. Also, DD circled a make up set she wanted in a certain toy superstore's catalogue. It was £20! And was pink - her fave colour is purple. so, I found the same thing on Amazon in purple for £7! Complained that it was scuffed when it arrived and got a full refund! it is a bit damaged on the corners, but still an ok condition for a gift, everything inside is fine, and it was free!

Have had a lovely day out today. Got free tickets for a castle we haven't been to before, as it's open doors weekend. Took a picnic so just had to pay £2 for parking.

Have 3 viewings on our house tomorrow. We are trying to let it ourselves before involving agents. Last time, we had it rented out before the agent had even got round to take pictures!

Our plans for today are to go to the bank and withdraw some cash, call to get some paint to finish off painting the gates and maybe some coal for the stove. I need to wash the floors, get the washing out on the line, make a curry for tea and go for a bike ride.

DD was supposed to be going out for lunch with her friends doing some shopping and then going swimming but her behaviour last night was so appalling I've said she can't go. Her school asked us to make sure the children could put a duvet cover on a duvet ready for their trip away as they are expected to do this. Last night she tried (she did say she could already do it) but was making a hash of it and I laughed, she went crazy for about an hour and said she wished I 'would go away and die'.

I sort of want her to go so we all get an afternoon of peace but I have to make a stand.

Oh sorry to have missed your post his morning Dolly we must have cross posted. How hurtful of your daughter. I'm sad on your behalf. How you must have felt.

Apple - sorry to hear your daughter is being bullied. How is she handling it?

Not well! It has been ongoing since Reception, but escalated last year. Her class teacher was great, and the Head was involved, but not the parents. Given that it started this year within 3 days of the new term, I was determined to start the necessary paper trail. The parents do not seem to believe there is a problem... I have seen the girl at parties over the years and witnessed how she manipulates her parents.

Well, the issue is in no way resolved yet, but they are treating things very seriously, which is a relief. It is a situation that really upsets me too and is one of the many things causing/adding to my current anxiety and tension.

I am supposed to be moving from 2 to 4 days of teaching from October 1st, for 9 months, but am currently considering only taking on 1 day. (I have no paperwork about it yet - just an oversight on the school's part, but it has meant that I was overpaid this month, so have to sort that out too.) I need to have time to be available to go in to dd's school whenever it is necessary. My neighbour is fantastic (her daughter has also been on the receiving end of nastiness from the same girl) but dd would want - and need - me to be the one going in.

It really is one day at a time with this. Thank you for asking (and sorry for the long reply) x

Apple, so sorry to hear this. It's awful. I am glad the school are taking it seriously. I had this many years ago with my oldest son and nothing was done and the parents turned on me too. Hopefully the parents will wake up, as every child has the right to go to a happy enviroment when at school. And right now, to my mind, by doing nothing, they are equally responsible.
