    Good afternoon...

Today has been spent using up the plums my granny gave us (from the tree in her garden). We have a whole carrier bag full so any recommendations then let me know.
Currently have crumbles cooling (with some cooking apples out of her garden too) and jam is currently simmering away.
    :)

My parents had some extremely ripe bananas which they have given me in exchange for some crumble so planning on making a banana bread later.
Am trying to do some more cooking stuff to try and reduce our dependence on ready made stuff (not quite sure how the banana bread fits into this but hey ho).
    ;)

Having a bit of a weird week with work... at a two hour training session on monday evening, working tuesday night (extra to help out), working tonight (thursday) and then on Saturday and Sunday. So poor body will be extremely confused by the end of it.
The split shifts are to help a friend out as her daughter has sprung a surprise visit on her. Which I am more than happy to help out with... not to mention (and I know this sounds awful) but more pay for a saturday and sunday night than a weeknight.
    :embarasse

I received a £10 voucher from work the other night so we went shopping last night. Spent more than £10 but I no longer need fuel for my car before the end of the month so have used my fuel budget for that.
Plan is to start keeping receipts from 1st October so we can analyse our spending. I think most of our money is spent on fruit and vegetables but can hardly ask my OH to stop eating it.
    :(

Was out on Tuesday for my granny's birthday. Struggled to find anything in my vast collection of clothing (yep... I used to overshop) and ended up feeling rotten.
So diet is starting properly in October. Plan is to exercise using wiifit when OH is at work and to stick to a sensible eating plan.
I now have 10 months before OH's sister gets married and I really need to sort myself out.
I am quite miserable within myself (in terms of appearance) and yet continue to do nothing about it.
I want to enjoy getting my picture taken. I want to be able to show people the places we have been and actually be present in some of the photographs.
    :undecided

Anyways... thanks to dolly84 for doing October. I look forward to taking part.
    :)

    Hugs to you all.

    Evening

Some good news - I applied for a temporary senior job at my work a few weeks ago and today found out that I got it :T I'm being seconded to another unit for 6 months and start two weeks on Monday. Full time hours and a pay rise :). I treated us to a wee bottle of something to celebrate so my planned NSD didn't happen.

In other good news once I make a payment to cc2 tomorrow, I will have less than £20 to pay :D The rest will be paid on Tuesday and then bye bye cc2. Currently having a think about what to focus on next.

Looking forward to the October challenge - thanks dolly for volunteering.

    Evening all,

The lurgy took full effect last night and today has been a struggle at work but was so tired I had to get back in bed at 5.30pm. Not sure if I'll be able to go in tomorrow but it's such a hassle to sort out if I need to have the day off.

SFD here though and payday tomorrow :)

Hope you're all feeling better than me, night all

  • FMess - get well soon. I am fully lurgied up and feeling very sorry for myself at the moment. Hence my going quiet on here (although I am bagging NSD's because I can't be bothered to do anything).
  • feeling on track!

13nsd's so far, 17/20 lunches taken to work, grocery shopping under budget and I've really been trying to get the cheapest price on things! I've also done ALOT of overtime which will cover service charges/car MOT etc next month. Just a little more than 9k to go lol

Fmess/Crazy Cat - hope you are on the mend in time for the weekend. It's that change in seasons time when everyone starts coming down with bugs.

misstara - congratulations on the job news.

I need to do a full grocery shop tonight so will be going to Lidl for that. Today is payday so I will be logging on to the bank today and shifting things around for October then calling at the branch tomorrow to withdraw cash for the kids activities and our entertainment fund. I do it in branch because I get the exact notes and coins to make things easy during the month.

DD brought home letters from Guides last night, there is a sleepover coming up next month which is usually £5-£10 for food etc and a camp at the end of October which is £25. She wants to do both (obviously) so I've told her she will need to earn some of the money herself and suggested she do some jobs for family/neighbours, she looked totally horrified:rotfl:. The camp is a pain though as it is over an hours drive away and we have to get them there and back.

My plans for today are stripping all the beds, washing the bedding and hopefully getting it dry on the line, a long dog walk and some cleaning. I was going to go for a run but out of the blue last night I was struck down with some sort of tummy upset which lasted a few hours, I still feel a bit weird now. I am very, very rarely ill so it was a bit of a shock.

    Have a good day all.

    Hi All

I am super pleased to have finished my long stretch of work. And now have 2 days off. Woo hoo:j

I have hit the NSD target for this challenge 15/15 but will still be keeping a close eye on the pennies.

Our tenant had paid the rent today, so I made a PAD of £10 to the 0% card. Which puts me at 21% of my stretch target for September.

I got an email from my business energy provider to say I had qualified for the next online focus group, & will be paid £50 for a 90 min group, but not till the 8th of October. So, it wont count in this months challenge, but is there for next.

My sons bargain £8 shark onsie which he really wanted, was there when we got home, good old ebay! It has feet & a hood, & is super cosy, so I think its money well spent.

I dont think I have any other turtle power to add to my message, so signing off to waddle up to Mr T now & look for anything YS for tommorows breakfast.

    Night all

    Bob

crazy cat lady and dolly - hope you feel better soon, thank goodness it's the weekend!

misstara - congratulations on the new job :)

    Evening all,

Today was payday :) and I got the payrise :j It means I have paid £120 extra off my credit card :j

Had a bad night last night with this cold, but when I got up this morning I realised that it would take so much effort for me to send the instructions to school for my lessons, that I might as well go in myself. My colleagues tried to send me home when I cried upon arrival at school but I managed to last until the end of the day and was fairly productive. Tomorrow I will be spending the day in bed, but I have some extra work to do which I will do in my pyjamas. I need to do the food shopping but will wait until I feel a bit better, maybe on Sunday.
