Do we have to do something naughty to get on the sofa?!
Nope! Just come in!
Happy Anniversary Bob - have a great meal together.
Re the car, dh got sideswiped by a plonker on the motorway - it shook him up a lot as the driver was a loud mouthed shouter and won't accept liability, so we have to decide whether to fight that/query it. There has been so much going on recently that we are all out of fighting spirit. But each day is a step further on and bit by bit, things are getting sorted out.

crazy cat lady - hang in there with the mid-month mehs. You said you had stretched yourself at the start of the month and now things were tight. So be kind to yourself. Any gain - like an NSD - deserves crowing about from the rooftops. Every step taken forwards - amd every time you manage not to fall backwards - is a triumph!
I echo the congratulations TOG - fabulous news on the job :T:j
Thanks for the motivation applemuncher - hopefully should be another nsd today. And Fmess, I'm pleased that I'm not on my own.Not giving up

Hi guys.
Traveller - hope you feel better today.
TOG - great news about your new job - well done.
Bob - good news about your extra money, it all adds up.
Well yesterday I managed to get a full line of washing dry in the sunshine, went blackberrying and made a crumble with them for tea yesterday, went for a run and cleared the ironing pile.
I also ordered 2 large sacks of dog food for delivery, they were on offer with £4 off per bag, I had to order a £1 treat for the dog to get free delivery but it seemed a good deal and that will keep him going for about 10 weeks.
Today I am working then calling to see my Mum and Dad, I will walk to their house with the dog to kill two birds with one stone.
Yesterday I had a small spend on a bottle of wine in Lidl to give to DD's school as a raffle prize. I had nothing suitable at home really.
DS brought home a letter about his residential trip next year, we are having a meeting about it but it is the same trip DD went on in Y5, it is for 2 nights and 3 days (less travelling) it is fairly local (about 20 miles away) it is an activity type trip and when DD went it was £185 now it is £200:eek:. The most annoying thing is DD is going on a similar trip with her new school, doing many of the same activities, at a different centre slightly further away and that one is £135 for the same length of time.
Tonight I will try to get out cycling, the weather is nice and bright just now so will hopefully stay that way.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

TOG well done on the new job and a better work life balance.
Bobarella and Apple muncher September seems a popular month for weddingsOur first anniversary is on Saturday and this Thursday we've been together 11 years.
Had a spend day yesterday (fruit, milk, reduced prawns and kitchen towels). Will have another one today due to bad planning as I need bread.
However, I started to get my MSE ways back in other areas. Picked up 6p roadkill and added that to the shrapnel collection that will be paid towards the CC. Stuck a bolognese in the slow cooker with loads of leftover veg and lentils. DS and I have a sandwich for lunch today made with some sad looking goat slices found in the back of the freezer that looked ok again once toasted.
Tonight when OH plays football I'll start tackling the mess in the house again room by room. Kitchen first. There is just so many little things that get dragged in from other rooms and then never put back.
Won't be able to do exersice again today as I'll go teaching a science class at lunchtime in a high school. Will pencil in the Aviemore triathlon soon though so I got sty else to aim for again (it's next August and if I can push myself I might try the full length version)DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi everyone,
Well not managed to bag another NSD yet so still on 5:doh: However, I still feel good as I know that I have spent much less than I normally would and my spending is much more controlled. An unexpected spend yesterday, I noticed that my one of my shoes had a hole in the bottom so needed to go buy another pair. I also needed some new socks but I had a £10 giftcard from my birthday so used that to stock up on the socks. I would normally have spent it on some clothing or jewellery that I don't need at the moment.
I have noticed a difference this week about how I am feeling about taking my lunch to work/not getting takeaways - the desire to go out and buy lunch/dinner has subsided and feeling better about the way I am eating.
The reason that Monday was a spendy day for me was that I went into Aldi's to get some of their Scotland rugby world cup tops/hoodies for Christmas presents for my dh's family. They live in the USA so they always like that kind of thing. So that's the start of my xmas shopping :xmassmile. The only other thing that I have is a photography craft book that I won in a competition that I am going to give to my sister. I have started writing down plans/costs for xmas but still need to do some work on that. My daughter and I are going to New York (meeting the Mother In Law there too) on the 16th December for a week so we plan to do some Christmas shopping there. Booking the trip was not very MSE of me but it is done now and is one of the reasons I am taking part in these challenges so that I can manage my money well enough so that the trip doesn't end up tripping me up financially for months afterwards.
Planning on a NSD today so fingers crossedNSD Dec: 0/15

Ooh I forgot, I got an email this morning from Sky saying if I sign up for a further 12 months broadband with them I get it for free, my original free 12 month deal had just run out so it was £7.50 a month from this month. I wasn't keen to change providers again, it is a bit of a hassle and I use my Sky email address for work and I find the broadband pretty reliable so I'm happy with that. £7.50/month saved.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Had a wee shop, needed hay, milk and chocolate(grandson) cough!
Apple feeling bit down perhaps I could pop on the couch for some therapy and wine, returning to the naughty step later of course.

Afternoon all! Happy aniversary Bob
TOG, CONGRATULATIONS! Fantastic news
Well, I've had an...interesting day so far!!! Dad came round earlier to help do some gardening, mum came with him and instead of sitting quietly she decided to clean my oven(!) so, she took the door off the front and promptly dropped it on the wooden floor, where the glass smashed into a zillion pieces! So I now have no ovena man is coming to hopefully fix it tomorrow, but needless to say I'm more than a little bit annoyed! She has offered to pay for it though, so I can't complain too much I suppose...!
Hoping today will be a NSD, and also hoping to keep OH from turning the heating on when he gets home - it's a cold one today. Happy hump day allBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!
