NST: September: the Turtles go Wombling

I'm trapped in middle of the month mundane-ness. No money spare to throw at the debts. No payments coming out of the bank. Just keeping busy at work and waiting for next month to tick around. No need for me to be on the naughty step at the moment but I do need to give myself a bit of a shake and get on with things.
Another NSD at least...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Good evening lovelies! Are you sure there's no more room for me on the naughty step? I think I need to be there too because I am doing terribly with earning NSD's. Half of the month and I have only made 5 so far. Small spends here and there. I need a good talking too. Will update the budget as soon as the excitement in the household has settled. I went for a job interview and they offered me the job straightaway! I am super excited. Looking forward to a 9-5 Mon-Fri and no crazy shift patterns. They will have to do the necessary checks before I can hand my notice in which could be either 4/6/8 weeks. It's going to be in the same hospital but different department, so it could mean shorter or longer notice. We'll see. It will mean basic income of about £1855 no more or no less, no enhancements, no over times, but better lifestyle. Now that we're debt free, there's not much financial pressures. We're happy to take a little bit longer to build the fully funded emergency fund in favour of a better quality of life. Can't wait to get back to work tomorrow to tell my colleagues of the good news!
OH and I had a small congratulatory meal at Subway. We had some vouchers from them in the post so we spent £6.99 for 2 6-inch sandwiches, 2 cookies and 2 unlimited drinks. Not bad at all! And managed to add some points to my rewards card.
I'll try to make a small dent on my ironing, which by the way was not touched at all last Sunday because of the nephew's birthday party. Night night all!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -

crazy cat lady - hang in there with the mid-month mehs. You said you had stretched yourself at the start of the month and now things were tight. So be kind to yourself. Any gain - like an NSD - deserves crowing about from the rooftops. Every step taken forwards - amd every time you manage not to fall backwards - is a triumph!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Although the naughty step is closed for the foreseeable future, you are all welcome to lounge on my sofas and have a coffee/tea/glass of anything you like.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Congratulations TOG! You won't know yourself having a normal working pattern.
I get the middle of the month thing too. I didnt think I'd be able to go any further but suddenly a few small things have opened up. Yesterday evening I got an email from the company that supply my till software which I use free on my tablet. They want to pay me £100 to take part in a user experience study. Plus a possible £75 more to do a follow up piece. I don't know how/when exactly all this is happening but that's a positive. Whatever I get will go off the debt.
Then today I had £5 in my account from shoptize so I've made a PAD with that.
Finally I recieved an invitation to do an online research session for my business energy supplier, as I'm on a research panel for them. If I am picked that will be £30 for 1 hours work.
So suddenly that is £200 in the mix. I love how these things can change just like that.
Apple - what happened with your car? I don't think you told us about that.
To all those saying they need to go on the naughty step. Hope you can forgive yourselves soon. None of your 'crimes' sound terrible!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning Turtles
I woke up at 4.30 with no trace of sleepiness so thought I'd get up and get on. It sounds as though its raining at the moment but its too dark to see
As Apple Muncher before me yesterday, today is mine/OHs wedding anniversary. We had a lovely chat before bed last night about our special day/honeymoon. It was definately a highlight in our lives, & Im glad it was all I wanted it to be.
One of our relatives had sent a card with £20 in it yesterday with instructions to treat ourselves to something nice. I really fancy getting some nice food in for a meal. For someone who is a big foodie, cooks for a living, my at home meals are shockingly basic at the moment, because of the big debt slaying focus, but I will try to go to the supermarket with new eyes on this one occasion & see what I can rustle up
Things I've done/am doing today.
1) Majorly exciting for me, after 1 year of paying back the £300 refund to First Utility that they stupidly issued last August, we are now 7p in credit! So as soon as the call centres open I will be in their face demanding they sort out my DD. Our usage for August was £57 accross both Gas/Elec so thats a whopping £48 difference on our payments per month. Horray!
2) Have used the time to do some admin on uploading reciepts. Anyone not yet doing the shopping apps, you are losing money. I've made 8p today already, call Gordon Gekko quickbut isnt that what we are all about here?
3) Have made a £7 PAD using a little bit of the CB. That puts me at 17% of my stretch target.
4) The last DD of September has left our current account. So have updated my spreadsheet this morning. And always a nice feeling to know all main bills have been covered, and whatever is left is our look out.
5) Up to 9 SFDs now.
Think that'll do for nowIts 6 so I can now creep back to bed with the breakfast tray, once I hear little man get up, he has a homework sheet to do before school so will start him off on that and then go
Have a good day hump day everyone!

TOG that's fantastic news, well done :T
Bob fab news on the extra earning opportunities
Too tired to post last night, I felt much better yesterday and thought I'd go to the gym. However I'm clearly not quite back to usual as 30 mins in the gym completely wiped me out.
I had a day off yesterday but had to go to a couple hours of training (diabetes so quite interesting). I also had a contact lens appointment and I'm trialling some new ones. They are a little bit more expensive than the ones I normally use (those ones have been discontinued) but since I spend the majority of my time with contact lens in, I figure it's worth the extra money.
I spent £25 in markies but it was a voucher redeemed from a survey site so I'm going to count yesterday as a NSD. I was planning to keep it for Christmas presents but decided to spend it on myself - got some much needed new undies plus a wee present for my friends son.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
