    Good morning

Well, thanks to the temperatures being back in double figures up here the heating is still off. Wanted to put the winter duvet on last night and realised I never took it off all "summer", haha.

Took the Tescismo and Asd@ magazines to work and will look up some of the lovely recipes in there to try sth new and write a shopping list. Will see if can make some of them as cheaper versions. Last night hubby had to work late and the went to footie. But because I had the food ready in the slow cooker it freed up time to do things, once the kids were in bed, that have been nagging me for a while. So I tidied up/cleaned the conservatory, kitchen, cleaned the oven and hoovered.

Tonight I might make a apple pie for FIL with our apples as they are still a bit tart.

My signature is a lot of question marks as I have no real idea. Raided some of the savings, shuffled money around and lost track especially during our time away. So damage control this month till payday and the proper record keeping again.

    Have a lovely day

Fmess how annoying, my phone is my only alarm in the mornings as well.

WelshKitty sounds as if your business will soon be in full flow:T

Bob - agree with academia think as a gift voucher and nsd. Hope you enjoyed your meal sounded gorgeous.;)

Getting out of the woods slowly but surely. 100 pounds normal dd paid today and threw another extra 12 pounds at my bcard. Only 88.00 left on that one now.:)

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday after work, beach fun with grandson, my sandcastle building however needs work. Nice walk with my old dog walking friends, great to catch up with them again.

Have an awesome day, my half day off this afternoon so long walk, off to the pub for a meal with couple of old school friends tonight - should be interesting.:rotfl:

  • Bobarella - I think that deserves a SFD

I managed a SFD yesterday but spent some money at shop this morning.

I have also been trying to make some money from decluttering this month so have already got rid of some DVDs/games at disc exchange, about to send some books off to webuybooks and have put up some items on ebay and still to add a few more. As well as making some money, I have a real desire to just purge my home of a lot of stuff. Unfortunately I don't have much of value so won't make much money but it all helps and I'll feel better for getting rid of stuff I don't need.

On target to clear a substantial chunk off my credit card this month :j

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Gang

Thanks for the votes on yesterdays spends, the meal was really delicious. We ate it whilst watching Narcos on Netflix. Dont know if anyone else has seen it but what an eye opener!

Fmess - Felt so sorry for you having to do that, what a huge pain, but what else could you have done? Im almost tempted to say you shouldnt lose a no spend day for something so essential. See what Apple thinks.

Calling - You are really doing so well on your payments! Sandcastles sound really lovely too. What a nice day.

Academia - Is your stove door fixed now?

Welshkitty - Congrats on the booking. Its a constant round of spend money to make money in an own business I find.

Thanks LuckyStarr -by the way I can never read your user name without singing the Madonna Lucky Star 'starlight star bright, first star I see tonight' is that where you got it?

Dolly - Do you have any lavender in your garden? Super cheap recipe is just to crumble a teeny bit of a bud into a sponge as you mention above, & then ice with thick icing sugar, & a tiny bit more lavender. It is so delicious and cheaper even than that cheapest of all cakes lemon drizzle :) Plus everyone loves the novelty factor.

Thrifty - Dont worry on your spends, you'll be back on track very soon. Well done for keeping that heating off.

Apple - your house sounds very cosy with all the lined curtains, throws & winter spread. Must be really nice.

498Louise -Glad you are on target!

So today. Was the most physical day I've had in ages. Having had 2 very slow very worrying days to start the week, yesterday was busy in a good way, today, I took £20 less, but was manically busy all day, most of it fire fighting really. Hoards of crumb spreading toddlers, lovely but old lady customer repeating herself 4 times in the course of a 45 minute chat, annoying incident where someone turned off the oven when I thought it was on....no lunch, no breaks, no sitting down between 8 & 5.30. Very very tired right now.
But, I've managed to clear some bills this week & still have 3 days to go, so Im going to have a nice early night, having either made, or left instructions for OH to make, a sausage chilli with some lovely spicy YS sausages & rest up.

    Have a good night everyone!

  • Hi all! Bob, no stove door is still broken, apparently engineer looked at it and said it would be almost impossible to get a replacement door as the issue number has rubbed off, so looks like I'm getting a new stove instead! Mum is upset, I keep telling her it's okay but she's insisting on paying for it (I'll probably give a bit of money back to dad, because I feel bad, it was an accident). Should be fixed by Sunday, thankfully we shouldn't need it until after then anyway due to batch cooking.
Quiet day today, SFD and lunch to work. Meal out with work has been cancelled tomorrow, so means that will be a SFD as well :D hope everyone has had a good Thursday :)

    Evening all

Glad you had a profitable day bob and hope you have your feet up now

oh no academia, your mum must feel awful but I guess it'll be nice to get a new stove

Today was SFD number 12 :) Having a nice evening with my feet up. I'm sure I have lots of work to do but I can't remember what it is! Found some draft excluder tape, to go in the windows, in my drawer upstairs so will attempt to fit that to my drafty bedroom window this weekend.

    Have a lovely evening all

Today I have been to the woods. As far as the doctors, then about as far again to the park gates and top end of the park and then on into the woods. Left out the little bit at the far end as the path has steep bits in it and didn't want to get stuck. Was out for over two hours, walking very slowly with some rest stops but so happy to have walked so far. Spent some time watching squirrels (glimpses of three but one came down a tree and spent ages scampering about in a clearing). They seem to have thinned out the undergrowth in a couple of places and some of the long established trees could be seen clearly - one had branches that were like deer antlers and the bark texture looked so soft and strokeable. Tired and aching but so happy.

Also found 42 items to be sent to the Syrian refugees in the camps (mainly stationery and school supplies) and dropped them off at the library (local checkpoint) this evening. Few other things for the cs/ rubbish plus dismantled a tree (self seeded weed in neighbour's yard but approaching tree proportions - lent him my tree saw and told him to chuck it over the wall into the back) with my secateurs.

Lots of not so great news but we'll keep it positive. You are all doing so well despite snafus. Today I am grateful for being able to walk (keep seeing people on crutches and thinking how far I have got), for having 'enough' to be able to help those in need and for making (some) progress on the housework

  • Re yesterday's charger, fmess, I was thinking, 'What would kat say?' It is obviously an essential, when your phone is your alarm too. But on the other hand it is therefore a priority to keep it charged and know where the lead is... Hmm, that sounds rather judgemental and I'm not ! Maybe just take it as a lesson learned, get a cheap battety alarm clock from the 99p/£ emporia/wi1ko, and be pleased that you didn't buy anything else when you were out. :D

And since the naughty step is out of order, then just come and sit on the sofa anyway! No excuses/reasons needed.

I've ended up doing my fortnightly shop tonight - after a manic day at work and everything, and all so I could bag an extra nsd over the weekend.
I realised pretty early on that today wasn't going to be a NSD because it's DD's birthday at the weekend and she wants to see a film at the cinema (and I like to book tickets way in advance so I can choose seats etc). Then, she arrived home from school upset because she had dropped her water bottle and it had smashed, so I went to Mr S to buy her a new one. Then, once I got there I bought a load of YS meat and spent just over £12. So I thought I should go complete my online shop for the other stuff today so I don't have to lose another nsd over tomorrow or Saturday.
I wouldn't care, but it's been another day of non stop from 6am - 9pm so I really shouldn't have time to spend anything.
Is there space for me on the sofa apple? I need to sit down.

Yesterday wasn't a NSD as I paid for postage for my friends wee boy's present. Today has been so that makes 9/20 (I think). I didn't go to the gym today as I'm still not feeling 100% and I wouldn't want any more stern mumsy looks from Bob ;)

The cook at work gave me some curry to take home for tea so had that instead of the planned baked tatties. Makes our food budget stretch a little further :) Plus there was enough leftover to go into the freezer for another meal.

H0bbycraft sent me an email earlier about christmas stuff so spent a good while looking at their website. I'm planning on making christmas cards again this year so have picked out some bits that I want to get. Will work that into the budget for next week's pay.
