TOG, CONGRATULATIONS! Fantastic news
Well, I've had an...interesting day so far!!! Dad came round earlier to help do some gardening, mum came with him and instead of sitting quietly she decided to clean my oven(!) so, she took the door off the front and promptly dropped it on the wooden floor, where the glass smashed into a zillion pieces! So I now have no ovena man is coming to hopefully fix it tomorrow, but needless to say I'm more than a little bit annoyed! She has offered to pay for it though, so I can't complain too much I suppose...!
Hoping today will be a NSD, and also hoping to keep OH from turning the heating on when he gets home - it's a cold one today. Happy hump day all
Oh no. I bet your mum feels awful. Good that you are getting it fixed quickly though.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh Jeez Academia! I was reading that feeling all envious of your lovely parents up to that bit. Eek. Poor Mum I bet she felt terrible. I would! Good luck keeping the heating off!
Thrifty - You are right, September is a real hot spot month for weddings. I hope your anniversary will be lovely. We are on 9 years today, & 16 years together in total. I feel very blessed to have met my kind, handsome husband (barf everyone right?) & wish the same happiness to everyone else. Well done on your roadkill find btw.
MissTara - Take it easy at the gym till you are 100% better. Its not good for you working out when you are ill. Stern Mumsy looks coming your way lady.....
Apple - How bl00dy scary. The same thing happened to another user on here, she said it was a foreign driver so no luck tracing them either, & police seemed barely interested. Its terrifying. Hope you do get some money back from the other driver soon.
Dolly - Those school trips do some expensive, but I suppose at least you have some time to plan and save if they are next year? Thanks for the good wishes too.
498Louise - You are right on the eating thing. I find the less I eat take aways the more I am happy with that and find resisiting easy. The thought of dropping £20 on a meal that I often feel quite unhappy about about 2 mins after finishing it now makes me feel sick before I even ring the number. They are and always will be a huge rip off!
Calling - Who's on a roll, I think its you with all your payments this month! Go you. That £160 is looking very scared now trying to hang onto the big £4k
Well. Not sure whether to count today as a NSD or not. I spent £13.45 of a £20 cheque that was sent with the express wishes that I buy OH & I something nice for our wedding anniversary. So thats gone on delicious fresh veg, prawns, coconut milk, thai green curry paste etc to do a Prawn Curry tonight. Is that my money or someone elses? Do vote people
Good days trade at the caff, thank goodness, its been such a worry this week so far. Mums and babies group first thing, they were happily ordering coffee & bacon rolls.
Got soaked cycling home with son, he's in his dressing gown with a hottie (hot water bottle) slippers etc, & Im off for a hot bath shortly.
Think apart from the curry it will be an early night to try and catch some zzzzz....

I'm calling it a NSD for you.
I know mum feels bad, and I know she's really good and I'm lucky - just a bit of a shock to come home to broken glass! Batch cooking and freezing has really come into its own now, as we can just heat things on the hob instead of using the ovenBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Evening everyone,
bob - I'd say that you still got a SFD
academia - oh no about your oven door but as you say yay for batch cooking and freezing
calling - well done you on all the payments
Today has been another SFD so I think I'm up to 12 nowI'm not sure I have ever got this many so quickly, so fingers crossed that I can keep it going until the end of the month. Not much else happening here, just resisting putting the heating on, closing the curtains early to keep the heat in, eating batch cooked meals from the freezer etc.

We put the winter half of the duvet on yesterday, as dh was cold. And our lounge and bedroom curtains still have last year's fleecy blankets pinned to them. They made quite a difference to the chill and draughts that emanate from any window pane. The hall door curtain may well go up soon, as the weather is so grim. I also have some fleecy blankets to put over the sofa and sit on and wrap round me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've been absent, things have been a bit hectic! Just a quick update to say I've gone a bit over budget this month as I've had to spend £130 on the business, but I've had a booking for this weekend, who have already paid in full, for £100 so that almost covers it. Plus the item i now have should bring me extra income. I have been invited by a wedding planner to attend a wedding fair this weekend which will hopefully generate some interest, plus I have been offered a discounted stall at a Christmas market. So I've been a busy bee!
Will try to catch up and update properly soon.0 -
Grrr yesterday turned out to not be a SFD as at 9.30pm I was sat in my pjs and my phone went to 2% battery and I realised I had left my charger at work. Decided it was no big deal and I'd be phoneless overnight and then it dawned on me that I didn't have any other form of setting an alarm
So I ended up putinh clothes over my pjs and driving to asder to buy a charger. The only slight positive is that my original charger wire is about ready to break and the coating has come off in one area so I probably would have had to buy one in a few months anyway.
Hope you all have a good day, I really wish I was staying in bed.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi all. It's a lovely day here at the moment, I have a full line of washing out and another one in the machine.
DD's school is having a bake sale tomorrow so I have checked what I have in and I have flour, sugar and 3 eggs. I will call at Asda and get some more ingredients and bake a quick cake this afternoon.
DH came home this week with more cards from the shop that just throws them away, he got 5 packs of 12 birthday cards, each pack is a different design, 2 packs had 99p cards in and the other 3 were 59p cards. I gave some to my mum and DD used one for her friends birthday today.
Tonight I have to go back to DD's school for a parents evening and information about her upcoming residential, it is 7-8pm which is a total pain tbh.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
