  • £50 from eBay sakes is great going!!! Well done!
How have you built up so much in your EF where does the money come from? I put odd change and money I wouldn't have had so can't miss in mine and in pleased to see I've got nearly £50 in there but it's nothing compared to your impressive EF X
  • Hi pops
My EF is growing I know. It's purely from rounding down accounts and I set up a standing order from my main account to my EF OF £7 per week. £1 per day. But the last couple of weeks I increased it to £10. Per week. I haven't really missed any of it though. The good thing is I can transfer some straight back if needed.

The £50 eBay sales really helped as well.
I have a feeling I will be using some soon as my car insurance is coming up :(

I am quite protective of my EF as I have never been able to save so it just goes to show what you can do if you put your mind to it :). I tend not to see it as money lol it sits in my online savings account
what is really helping is OH gets paid weekly and I get paid monthly. It's making it easier for me to budget. Only wish I did this sooner. Small steps popstess and we WILL get there :T

  • Hi all

Have just quickly popped in for a random ramble. I have just been looking at doing my weekly shopping on line. Looked at Asda and Icelands. Had trolley fulls in both stores and both WAYYYYY above my budget. I dont know what came over me

Old habits dying hard and all that. So I emptied both trolleys, logged out and will shop tomorrow with a list and cash :)

  • Hey :hello:
Well done on emptying the trolleys and not going through the checkout!
I do my weekly shop on asda online then collect it for free in the drive through. I find it's working better fit me because I can meal plan and I know exactly how much I will spend so can go back and alter as many times as I like until it's the total I want. I'm aiming for below £50 each week, this week I'm trying to have a lean week shopping wise. I have a few home cooked meals that I froze portions of over the last few weeks so will be mainly eating grin the freezer this week. I managed to get my shop to just below £30 and that's with some household products too.

My car insurance is also due for renewal in March I'm hoping I can get it cheaper. I it's mine monthly though, would you consider swapping to monthly rather than putting the yearly payment on CC's?
  • Hi all

Woke up to it snowing this morning :snow_laug well a little exaggeration there but it was a few flakes in the rain :rotfl:

My car insurance was only £238 last year and that's fully comp so hoping that I can get it a little lower in March.

I will be doing a lot of comparing prices before I decide which to choose and how I pay it.

    Happy weekend all

  • Hi all :hello:

Well I waited patiently for the snow that was forecast and thought I would be snowed in so no work :T Never quite goes to plan does it

Anyway nothing too exciting to add but am still waiting for my last CC statement of the month to arrive. no sign of it yet. A little more added to EF so a bonus there.

I like to have my CC statements paid asap and plan for next months snowball payments again.. and so on and so on. This journey of mine is ssoooooo long :(

Christmas for me is more or less sorted without too much damage financially :T Cannot wait until its all over so I can attack my debt with a vengeance. The new year is going to be a challenge of a lifetime for me and I want to see just how much I can pay off in 12 months Hence the username.

Hope everyone is well and keeping warm Its a little chilly out there and we have fireworks going off :mad::mad: My dog is not impressed.

Oh and I managed to bag myself a silver bracelet on e bays last minute auctions a grand total of 60p with free p&p :j

Its coming from China so I wont hold my breath on how long it takes to arrive :rotfl:

    I do love a bargain

  • Well talk of the devil. My final CC statement for this month has arrived and been paid :j

Start squirrelling money for next months snowball payments.

Although I have quite a lot to pay each month I am finding the snowball method a Godsend. It keeps me focussed and I know exactly where I am. I can then pay my statement as soon as it arrives giving me time to plan and budget for next months. Also keeping me in the CC companies good books. :)

    Onwards and upwards.

  • :wave:Well a little update

OH was lucky enough to come into a little money today :T

Not quite enough to become debt free but hey ho

First thing I did was made my EF up to its total so thats a huge bonus. I will still be adding bits to it for any extra emergencies that may crop up.

We will have some to add to a CC and finish the last bit of Christmas shopping (big relief there)so will be juggling cards around to see if I can make a difference to interest and payments etc.

I will be changing my signature once I have finished juggling

    Good luck all
