Thankyou elfy and :rotfl: at your near miss with the lampost.

I am constantly thinking about money and am always thinking of ways to get rid of my debt. I am being a little impatient I know.

I often read the debt free roll of honour board. The stories on there really inspire me.

This morning I am toying with the idea of drawing out a small amount of money every week and keeping it in a jar or something at home. This can be used for myself and my OH during the week for bits and pieces if needed. Therefore neither of us use the bank account at all during the week.

I wonder if this will be a better idea and any extra in the bank at the end of the week will go towards our debt.

Will raid freezers again today as I have a feeling I have too much food again :( Need to tighten the reigns on food shopping even further.

    Keep going all

Well freezers raided and found lots of meals again. Will do an absolute necessary only items shop tomorrow.

Was toying with the idea of shifting CCs around again. But with some good advice on here have decided to stick with my current plan. :)

I have re assessed finances and remembered I have a little extra coming in with my wages every month. (Provided the extra work is there to be had.) I will be like Linford Christie running to sign up for it :rotfl:

I will put the extra towards CC number 1 and get this one down and gone :T

So will be dusting off my hiking boots because we have a huge mountain to climb. I have my flag ready to stick at the debt free summit :j

I have also realised that I have 3 months left on my council tax and then we get February and March off. :) These 2 payments will go towards something.
Maybe my EF if this is still not up to the full total.

Weekly budget starts again tomorrow. Will be sticking with this like glue.

    Hi 12MC

I loved using the Snowball calculator, keep doing what you are doing as you really seem to be motivated which in turn motivates others (including me). The emergency fund will be really useful especially to help you avoid using the CCs.

    Thank you There is light

After raiding freezers and checking cupboards etc I decided to go and do my weekly shop tonight.

I have just returned and spent a whopping £23 :j I cannot believe I managed to spend so little.

This was because I checked my food stores before I went. Will definitely be sticking to this plan.
Tomorrow morning I will do my weekly budget and I will have extra left over due to my bargain shop tonight.

Any extra that's left will be squirrelled away for my snowball payments that will be due in a couple of weeks. I may even have a little extra this month for my 1st CC that's due to go :D I already pay way over the minimum payment on this one so a little more will give me a boost. Possibly add some to my EF.

decisions decisions why wasn't I this money savvy before.

I am a DFW addict now

:j Weekly budget done Even managed a litte extra for EF
Just need to pop out and top up Gas/Electric. I have even been putting the same amount on these every week and they are building up too.

It feels good to be in front with everything.
I do feel a little guilty when I look at my EF as I have debt that I could pay this towards. But I do see the importance of having it.

I am very much focused on getting to my EF target. This is an achievement in itself for me as I honestly haven't missed the money I have been adding to it. :) Its my little secret and no one knows I've got it ;) (well only the thousands of you on here)

    Hi in need

I never thought of my EF getting to 50% that's a great idea. I will be aiming for that definitely. small goals.

I am finding it so much easier paying the same amount every week on things. I can then sleep knowing that all is paid until next weeks budget.

Also waiting for DS and DDs housekeeping today. Lets see if they remember that they were increasing a little from this month. or was it last month :D The time goes too quickly.

As you mention Christmas I did have a think about it yesterday and wondered how I will pay for it. Definitely not CCs that's for sure.

I have just closed 3 so the temptation there has been removed :T will get thinking cap on today. I do however only buy for my little family so its not too expensive Thats a bonus I suppose.
