  • Small payment made to CC :)

I rounded down accounts again and paid a small amount. Every little helps. I needed to do this to spur me on again.

Starting to feel more upbeat again :T

  • Well I have just closed 3 Credit Cards. Kept them open for
    'just in case' purposes. :D

Decided to bite the bullet today. We had £7,600 sitting in unused CCs but with no deals.. The man on the phone said he will offer only 6 months at 0% I Kindly declined. He then offered a £20 good will gesture to keep the cards open. I thought better of it and finally closed. :j

It actually feels good. but am still a little nervous at losing my safety net.

Why we kept them I do not know I suppose I was scared to actually close them for good.

Maybe in a few months time we will get a decent 0% deal and then can transfer existing cards onto it and chip away at them that way.

  • WOW ive just been given a free fiver :T

Was out walking my dog and a lady came out of the local shop with a clip board and walked towards me. Trying my hardest to avoid eye contact she managed to catch me and asked if I could spare a few minutes to answer some questions.

At first I declined. but very persistent was this lady so I reluctantly agreed. The survey was about e cigarettes and was literally 6-7 questions. She was setting up an ecig stand in the shop.

Then she kindly thanked me and handed me a £5 note from an envelope. I said no thank you and looked around for Jeremy Beadle. :rotfl: she replied that it was from the company she was working for but she couldn't tell me that at the start. All I had to give was my first name and postcode.

Walking away I chuckled to myself thinking maybe she is my guardian angel and knows how much debt I have lol.

The fiver will definitely be going to a good cause.

Hi 12 month challenge! Thought I'd pop on over from my thread to read your diary after your encouraging posts on mine!
Aw you've done so well! Right now I'm struggling to believe I'll ever have a EF you seem to have built one up so quick! Have you got it in a savings acc or normal acc? I think I'd just end up dipping into mine.
Great news on the free fiver I like the idea of your guardian angel :)

Speaking of free fivers I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this on here but

    http://http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-5-when-topup-10-into-your-account-15-can-withdrawn-with-no-fees-revolut-2306476

If you download this app and top up by £10 you get a free fiver then you can just withdraw £5
Don't forget to put MSE in the promo code bit.
  • Hi Popstess and welcome

I have an on line savings account that I don't even have or know the pin number for. I regularly round down my accounts and transfer the odd pennies into it. I can transfer back out if need be. I cannot believe how quickly it is building up.. It just shows how I would normally waste that money.

I have one joint main account with OH and this is where both of our wages go in to. My direct debits come out from this account and I have all of my direct debits set up for the day I get paid. This way I check it once ive been paid to make sure all DDs have been paid. Rent, Council Tax, etc. I leave some money in there for my OH as he can be quite flippant with money and has the attitude easy come, easy go. If he wants anything during the week he can use this.

I have a basic account that ive had for donkeys years and this is where I transfer any money for my Credit card snowball payments and my everyday money as I call it.

It is very overwhelming at times but I am getting used to keeping tabs on everything.

The snowball method seems daunting but I am finding it is working for me so far. I ignore the overall amount and am focusing on making the payments every month and watching them come down albeit not by much but at least its down and not up :T

    Stick with it
WE WILL GET THERE SOON AND WE WILL BE

You're doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

I was so enthralled reading your diary this morning on my walk to work that I was literally an inch away from walking face first into a lamppost. Oops.

So you better keep going the way you are. You wouldn't want my beautiful face being almost ruined for nothing do you?? (you don't actually know what my face looks like, but we're gonna go with it being drop dead gorgeous! Lol!)

    Keep it up. Subscribed.
