OHs mobile bill came in this morning £26 over his usual bill.

Heaven only knows what he has done to rack up that bill
To say I'm angry is an understatement

I was so upbeat this morning.

Its a good job hes not home yet will give me time to simmer down a bit.

    Rant over

Awesome plan of one a week until Christmas.

Alongside my 20p per day impulse savings, I also transfer £1 a day (I do £7 every friday) to a present fund. Don't miss it, but it's there when I need it.

May or may not have got a little overexcited on my boyfriend's birthday treat back in September (I took him to a falconry morning with archery and rifle shooting - the archery & shooting were AFTER the falconry so not pretty birds (including the 10lb Bald American Eagle we got to hold) were harmed lol), so not as much as I was hoping, but still a great start. A few more weeks and I might have enough to buy people lots of pressies.
    I don't know what though.
It's one thing finding/saving the money, it's a whole different story figuring out what to buy them ha!

As for the overspend - can you set a buffer?
I'm with Tesco and have a £2.50 buffer.
If I go over my minutes, texts or data, I can only spend £2.50 on top of my contract before it stops me from using what I've run out of.
I did this once when I thought I was connected to wifi and turns out I wasn't. I ended up using all my data with something like 2 weeks before the month end

Can you make him part with some of his things and sell them to make up the overspend, rather than dipping into your carefully planned budgets?
    Debts (as of 28/10/15)
    Mum: Start £3426.00 Now £2655.00 22.5% Car (on finance): Start 13823.60 Now £8728.59 36.85%
    Current Debt Free Day: 12/1/2019

    Goals:
    £2000 emergency fund £800/£2000 40%
    £5000 House Deposit £62.09/£5000 1.24%
Car Finance Settlement Fee As of 28/10/15 £0.00/£7152.18 0%

    Hi Pops and elfy.

Pops, No I dont have a budget for xmas but I saved money on my shop this week and where I have been budgeting so well I had a little over so I thought I would put it to good use. Oh and my free fiver I got lol. :)

elfy, OH is going to ring his mobile provider and ask them to put a cap on his phone so he cannot go over like that again

As for the falconry day I bet that was awesome. I think we all deserve a little treat now and again otherwise I may fall off my debt busting wagon. Its something to look forward to as well.

I love the £1 a day pot I am going to see if I can set up one of these.

I just hope that I can manage Christmas with no CCs whereas usually I would be like 'oh I need xmas presents which card shall I use'

Will be doing alot more reading on here for some xmas present inspiration

:T I have just set up a standing order for £7 a week from my main account into my EF account £1 a day surely I wont miss that. :)

I am aiming to get my EF to its target as quick as possible then I will be able to send this £1 a day to another source of debt.

Have checked accounts and am on track for my snowball payments due in a couple of weeks. :j

Been sorting out today and have listed lots of items on ebay.

Its stuff that's been hanging around for a while but never got round to dealing with it.

However tonight I decided to bite the bullet and deal with it.

    All items listed :j

Whatever we get from it will be a bonus and I'm sure we will find good use for the extra pennies.

OH said "I want half of what you get" The reply he got was
"yes after we deduct what we had to pay on your massive phone bill today" :rotfl:

At least we got a chuckle out of it in the end.
