My so called friend MR DEBT only has 36 months left to live

We currently have 4 CCs with zero balances on them so why do I feel anxious about closing them.
A little voice in my head is saying What if you need them any time, You will have nothing to fall back on.
However I have no intentions of spending on them I just keep thinking they are there to BT if any deals come up
What should we do
I know I am building up an emergency fund (slowly) but am still worried about these cardsSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

Today another snowball payment made against CC number 2. Sticking to my plan and I feel so in control.
Emergency fund is growing slowly but I've never even had a fund so it feels good :T
2 more CC statements to pay this month when they arrive and then wait for next months. Its looking like I will have some left over in my snowball account when I've paid this months payments.
I will keep building it I think and keep chipping away at the first CC to go. :T I don't want to come up short of my target payments every month. (Decisions, decisions)
I got an email this afternoon telling me my cc statement is available to view online. Too late I've already been on and paid it
They must think I've been abducted by aliens or something.
Hope everyone is goodSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

Another bit of rounding down accounts for my EF and have gone over the £200 mark. WOW. How It's got to that much is beyond me. I honestly must chuck money away. Not any moreSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

Hiya
I think if I am anything to go by the thought of having lines of credit even if you don't plan to use them is reassuring. But I'd consider getting rid of some of them. As you rightly say putting money into your emergency fund is really important so that the CC becomes the 2nd choice.
But I think when it's been super tight it's normal to feel worried to let go of the cards when they are clear because they feel like security blankets a bit.
I think if it were me I'd close maybe 2 of them for now then see how I felt?

I think your right Bob about the security blanket.
One minute I'm talking about the darn CCs and then I'm wondering whether to keep them or not
I think I just answered my own question there lol
I will look at accounts and will close 2 maybe 3 at the weekend
This will give me a bit of a buzz I hope
Thanks for the kick up the backside :rotfl:SP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

You don't need a kick up the backside. You are doing great on your own.
I agree it's a huge step change trying to go from using credit to not.
I feel very protective of my EF now. I want to keep it and hopefully grow it once I'm debt free. But for now it feels good to know I have around 1 months living expenses saved.
You don't need to rush into anything. Because at the end of the day your credit score is about getting more credit. I know a lot of the guys on here scoff at credit scores a bit because each lender has their own. I used to pay for experian alerts but now make do with noddle for free. Because the score doesn't matter." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I agree about the emergency fund. Mine is my little secret
I like seeing it grow slowly and want to see just how much I can save.

I don't think so. The sooner you have it the sooner you'll be way more secure so I think it's a good thing to obsess a bit over." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

CC number 3 statement due tomorrow
Cant believe I am smiling because usually I would be thinking
I have the funds ready and waiting. The snowball fight continues :j
I have never been so organised and in control. Its all thanks to the wonderful, honest, non judgemental advice and tips I have received on here.
I will definitely be sticking around as it keeps me motivated and sane.
I seriously do look at money in a different way now. Although we still have a high level of debt I know that we are not lost causes and can do it.
My OH has even stopped drawing money out unnecessarily. He has seen my level of stress drop dramatically. I hope this continues also.
Good luck allSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000

CC statement still hasn't updated  It says its due today. (impatient) I just want to pay another months payments and watch it go down.
OH has really been onside the past 2 weeks. He hasn't drawn money out willy nilly. I have transferred another chunk to my EF :j its growing slowly but surely. I am actually amazed by this.
I never thought I could save anything at all.
Friday tomorrow :j Weekly budget starts again. Sticking to this is really helping. I have cut my Virgin payments into 4 and pay an amount weekly. When the bill comes in I have more or less paid it :j
Budgeting definitely works. :TSP 9#531=£620/SP 10 # 531=?PDBX 2016 #2 = £16,766.67/£12,000
