The last 2 years I've had free Phoneline from sky and 1/2 price fiber. I just ring when my contract is up and ask for free phoneline and they just hand it over with no fuss at all. I'm also on 60% off and £100 credit which I signed up for in June.0

Not sure if its any use to anyone, but 5KYMOVE gives 50% a whole package including Phone, TV and BB0

I have 50% off any TV package at the moment so have Sky Family for about £17 a month. However I got a cheap Now TV box a few months ago and have rung up to cancel Sky TV completely as we just don't use it enough. We have Amazon Prime + Netflix and our TV can record shows on Freeview (only 1 tuner though which is a pain at times)
I was offered 1/2 price broadband for another 12 months and keep my 50% TV discount running but the retentions person said that if I did agree to this but decided to cancel Sky TV in a few months time the broadband would increase.0 -
I tried to cancel shy the other day, I managed to cancel the TV package but they said if I cancelled the telephone line and broadband it would cause problems with my new provider as there would be an 'account ceased' block until after the cancellation date. Is this correct or are they just trying it on?0

I got all the sky TV channels (apart from sports and movies) inc HD and sky box sets. Also included is Fibre unlimited BB and pay as you talk phone and line rental. £43.99 per month on 12 month contract.
Does that sound like a good deal? I have agreed to it, however, I have a 31day cooling off period,so a bit of room to change my mind of you think it can be improved?
Thanks :beer:0 -
Well my haggling skills obviously suck, or I just got two grumpy call centre operators.
I rang a month ago to say that I was changing jobs and that I was getting a wage reduction (true) and couldn't afford to pay for the package I was currently on (entertainment, movies & sports) and that I wanted to down grade it to just the original plan but if I could get an offer I would consider keeping the package, or some variation of it.
First operator, "I'm sorry to hear that sir, unfortunately we can't offer you anything, would you like to downgrade to just the original package then?
Long conversation short, I ended up saying I'd think about it.
Left it a few days and rang again, nope no joy, new operator said same thing.
GOD DAMMIT!
So I got in a huff and said, fine I can't really afford it anyway so cancel the whole package.
I was given my last day and left it at that.
One week before my package was due to end I received an email offering 50% off the original plan, but nothing else.
Fine, I'll take that I thought. Then just yesterday I went online to check this months up coming bill and I just happened to check my offers page and was offered movies for 50% for 12 months too!:T
So after all that, I've pretty much got what I wanted but had to go about it a stupid round about way!
Think I need to go on an negotiation course though! :rotfl:0 -
There's nothing wrong with your negotiating skills, WeManMike.
Throughout this thread, it's been reiterated time and time again that to get the best deals you have to cancel. Once you did that, the offers started coming. The only thing you did wrong was to call them a second time. That tells them you don't really want to cancel. What you did in your second call was what should have been done in the first call.
This time next year, when this deal ends, you will know how to proceed. In the meantime, congratulations on getting the 50% off."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I believe it is correct, and you will have to pay a £30 cease charge as well. If you no longer want broadband/phone line then you can go ahead and cancel. However, if you are just moving to another provider (except Virgin) then all you need to do is place an order with them and they will sort it all out for you and contact Sky on your behalf.0 -
Rang Sky and was on with them for half an hour. Basically they have been charging us £22.50 a month for 4 years whilst new customers are paying only £21.50. First unhappy.
Then new customers get LG TV and if use topcashback £110 cashback. Brought this up to them. Nope, no can do.
Third unhappy, our Sky+ HD box is so old it don't even come with wifi. Idiots wanted to charge 268 for new one!
Finally, tried to see if can get better deal if switch broadband and landline to them. Nope, half @$$ lame half price for 6 months.
In the end only offered £10 sky subscription for 12 months, must pay £268 for box, crappy land and broadband rental.
Most probably will ask them to shove it. Any suggestions? The friendly lady my partner spoke to is just hopelessly unhelpful at all :mad::mad:0 -

Are you in contract ? If not, just cancel and give 30 days notice. Give you cancellation reason as your sky box is not working.
You will then get sky retentions team involved, who can offer you deals. You will probably find they will give you 50% off your TV costs and give you a free box. I tried this a few months ago to get a free new box.
If you are in contract, I doubt you will get a new box.
