Matter of opinion. When you have the full package and have been with the company for some years and you read about people being offered 50% off for 12 months, of course I would gamble at 35% and hold out for a better deal and since I wasn't offered it and it was switched off then that's me losing when playing the game, isn't it??
It will remain switched off too seeing as tho new customers can also sign up with 50% off deal.0 -
I wouldn't accept less than a 50% reduction on tv.0

Hi Looneywitch.
Just because you have not received a better offer from Sky does not mean you cannot contact them and get it. I have actually turned 50% off down because I am finding that NOWTV is a cheaper, more flexible and better option.
I would contact them using online chat or phone and tell them politely what you are willing to accept in terms of 50%....I would be surprised if they did not offer you that.
Good luck.0 -
Just cancelled 2 hours ago via live chat and have the 50% offer showing on my account, although I will wait and see if the 60% plus £100 credit appears after I've been switched off0

I've been pushing for this on chat but they keep saying they can no longer do it.
I've been offered 50% and £50 credit on a rolling monthly contract. Still rejected it. Don't like having to pay more than others for the same thing.0 -
With P/net for phone,b/band and line rental costing approx. £23 per month.
Spoke to T/talk who offered me Sky sports, unlimited b/band, unlimited phone calls inclusive and line rental for £43-70 per month.
Then spoke to Sky, who offered me unlimited b/band, unlimited phone calls inclusive and line rental for £9.99 per month.
I will contact Sky later this later when my Sky sports 50% deal expires to renew it.0 -
Dear MSE.
Thank you so much for your advice. I called Sky today and was offereda discount. I cancelled my Sky TV because they would only offer 1 discount. Within a few minutes I had an offer of 50% discount. Through live chat I got that discount plus 50% off broadband and a £30 credit to my account. I've made a saving of £591!!! All money going towards my honeymoon. Thank you again. Your tips and advice are invaluable. I love reading your weekly email. I never thought it could happen for me but I gave it ago and now look forward to a much cheaper price0 -

as i was paying £5 a month for skygo extra i now get this free with multiroom so saving a extra £2 a month
in the past 12 months ive had some unreal deals from sky
whole sky package with sports and movies with free HD for only £25 a month with a £100 bill credit for 12 months

I cancelled my dad's Sky package a couple of weeks ago, keeping just the phone and BB going until it was due to end in November. The TV package included Sky Sport. Kept checking account for better deals and was initially offered 30% off which I ignored, then a few days later 50% discount + free BB if we agree another 12 months and a credit of £100 to the account.
I've also gone back to Sky myself after a break of 3 years, for TV only which is costing me £20 per month, but through a referral we both get £125 pre-paid MasterCard, so happy days!0
