Sky welcome customers calling in to re-evaluate their package/prices and services; however its the greedy, demanding customers that drive price increases, ask yourself do you get value for money, I do, sky go, on demand, the kids app, service app and wfi hotspots all absolutely free, 1/2 price movies because I have sports, if I want freeview sky will give me the sky+ bundle which equates to free tv with recording facilities still available, your haggling guide is geared to the greedy customer who want everything for nothing (practically) Ask yourself if you owned a shop and your customers haggled with you everyday because 20p off a loaf of bread was not enough. Stop encouraging people to be greedy, if you need genuine help sky will give you it, their staff are wonderful.

Thank you for your post Mr Murdoch.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:-just back from the pub then ????
  • We ended up cancelling as agreed with sky. But they came back with an offer 2 weeks after cancelling, offering sky+, entertainment package, box sets for £10/month. This is all we really need at this time so we are now back. Yet saving over £90 a month is a saving to me  . Granted we no longer have sports, movies, docs etc, but rarely watched them enough, plus family have sports, so I suppose that's an excuse to visit. Movies can be rented, and we have Now TV 3 month free trial and Netflix.

All in all, happy with the saving :money:

hello everyone my sky broadband contract finishes 07/07/2016 so tried livechat today and was told there are no broadband offers around but could make me an offer on my tv well my tv was only installed 2 days ago on a great offer so that didnt apply to me. so told them i would be cancelling and he said ok have a lovely weekend so didnt seem that bothered about losing customers. we have just found out we are moving within 2 weeks so do i just cancel my broadband now as i have to give 2 weeks notice? sorry its so longwinded!!
  • I think you'll find you have to give Sky 31 days notice. Don't just cancel your direct debit or they'll set the debt collectors on you.

    It's 31 days for TV 14 for line rental/broadband
  • My Sky contract recently came to an end and my greatest success was haggling my broadband/line rental (like many others I got 50% off tv, £50 bill credit and no contract)

I put my cancellation in and a few days later received an email offering free line rental if I stayed. Went onto live chat and stated that I'd got this letter and I'd also seen that some people had been given half price fibre as well. After a quick chat with his supervisior they agreed. £10 a month for line rental and unlimited fibre. I also mentioned the SSE deal, and topcashback available as a bargaining tool.
