50% off and £100 credit negotiated for both ourselves and my girlfriend's parents after cancellation. They'll play a little hardball but the offers are still there.
I am impressed you managed that I played very nice even saying I was aware others customer service wasn't as good but that £40 - £60 per month was a lot to pay for customer service but still got no where. I didn't get anything other than the 35% off TV only for 5 months of the 12 months.
I cancelled and haven't received any offers including the 50% one so have signed up with talk talk who give current offers to all customers so at least I will know where I am and I got plus TV fibre and anytime calls with sports and entertainment package for £65 per month where as sky wanted to charge me £100 for similar package so I have moved and now wouldn't take the offer. The bad news for them is I also do the negotiations for my parents and brothers so they could lose a few accounts. The worse bit is they are now showing an ad on TV for the 35% for 12 months but despite 4 calls at different time and waiting 1 week before signing up anywhere else they didn't even offer me that.
Good luck all0 -
I cancelled my tv a few weeks ago and a 50% off discount did show in the interactive tv but this then changed to 35% off.
I tried live chat today and was initially offered 25% off but refused. This then went to absolute best offer of 35% off, £50 credit and no contract. I requested £100 credit i received when i first joined but this was refused.
I'm going to use NOW TV instead.0 -

So I was chatting to this very friendly Welshman about 3D, 4K and so on, for about 10 minutes, then as well a bringing my bill down by cancelling sports, he said as I'd been so friendly he would give me a 6 month discount of £16.01 a month! We carried on chatting for a while, then said our goodbyes like old friends!
That's what you call customer service :T
thats just the welsh for you0 -
Hi all,
We are in the process of renewing right now. Has anyone got a good deal by switiching to Sky Q Silver? We are also looking to transfer our BB from Talk Talk so wonder if this was a good bargaining tool0 -
Hi,
This is my first time haggling with sky after 1 year with them on a new customer deal.
I was paying about £47 a month for the full TV package of sports, movies, HD etc.. it has bounced up to £80 but have this offer:
1st month: £29
8 months: £54
3 months: £80
it is a hike in my opinion so should i cancel?£2008 for 2008 club No. 286

(left to go: £1712.20)

Give in your cancellation notice, and wait for a better offer to appear on your Sky Account, either online or via your TV.
I would aim for a minimum of 50% off all TV for 12 months, and also press for a £100 credit to your account. You could drop the latter if they prove difficult to deal with.
But they will deal."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Thanks...
As soon as i have cancelled MYSKY online is offering 35% off. I will wait and see if i can get more.£2008 for 2008 club No. 286

Ive just followed Martin's great advice. We had been lucky to be offered a competition prize with EE, which did take about 5 months to sort, but from today we are not with Sky for Broadband (normal not fibre) for the next 18 months plus a EE TV box as part of the prize.
On getting the £3.50 increase letter Martin's email mentioned a while ago, I called this afternoon to cancel our service and was told I could get a 25% discount for being a customer for so long - a surprisingly 16 years, 11 months and 8 days on Sky Digital. The guy I spoke to also suggested moving from Variety to Family in June as the HD is all included rather than a separate charge.
Followed the advice not to take it there and then - consult the husband/dog/cat, and when i called back and spoke to someone else, he read 25% as 35%!:j I managed to keep my cool and therein referred to the "35%" on offer at regular times during the call. Short to say for a 35 min 2 call bit of work, we have knocked £16.45 off our bill a month for the next 9 months, on a 12 month contract, and in June we will switch to Family bundle saving another £5ish.
Thank you Martin, next call is to our energy companies to save another £300 or so...0 -
Been with Sky for a long time - rang and asked what they could do and they offered me 25% off for 9 months. Told them i would check with other half and when I rang back and asked if they could do anything better they offered me 12 months instead of 9. Pushed a bit further but no go so accepted. Happy with that though0
