  • What is the best way to cancel Sky TV?
I see a number 0333 759 1540 - as soon as I told the robot I want to cancel (at 8.30pm) the  robot told me they were shut at 8pm. The website provided this number as being still available at 8.30pm.
My contract end date is 30/5/2021.
    I am currently paying
    12 Feb - £27.50
    12 April - £30.50
    12 May - £43.39
My account shows; Sky Cinema, Sky Entertainment, Sky HD, Sky Box Sets
I've not asked for it or confirmed it, but they have applied Sky Diamond Rewards
How to I stipulate that I want to cancel according to the 31 days notice, to end on 30 May?
    What do I do?

    Thanks for any help.

If you’re contract ends on 30th May put your cancellation in on 30th April.  Alternatively you could login to your sky account and go to cancel via the live chat option and you may be able to negotiate a new price.  Not sure if that works though whilst you not out of contract

phone them on 03300 413 018 or 0333 202 2135, ask to be put through to the cancellations department, tell them you are giving them their 31 days notice now that you are cancelling your contract and not renewing, this will then end your contract on the 30th may, note 31 days is the minimum amount of time they require so you can phone up 2mrow if you want, just make sure you do it 32 days before the 30th may

  • We tried all of the above and got a small discount. We cancelled thinking they would call us back with an offer as peoplehave said. They didnt call back so we called back up to accept the offer a week or so later and cancel the cancellation. But they said no the price has now gone up by £24. So disappointed so we are now having to cancel. Really upset as wanted to keep sky but couldn't afford the £120 they wanted us to pay.

Once cancellation gone through look on sky.com/mydeal there may be a new offer on there for you to sign up to
  • My Sky TV cost for the Variety Pack (used to be their basic package) has gone up to almost £50. Given that they are advertising their basic package including Netflix at a cost of £25 I contacted them and told them I was cancelling unless they gave me a better deal. They agreed to let me have the lower price plus I am upgrading to a Sky Q box which means I don't have to cover the cost of repairing my Sky HD box if there is any problem (it's about 15 years old) and I also get my aerial/LNB replaced. I was happy to pay for the installation (£99). Only downside is they still charge me £7 for the "privilege" of watching it in HD (surely about time they made this inclusive in their fees).
First time I 've haggled like this so well pleased with the outcome.

Well done, they probably wanted you off their old legacy pack hence why they let you have the lower price and Sky Q, you’ve done well there plus getting Netflix..enjoy.  In 18 months time when contract ends, give them call again and if not happy put cancellation in and you could well get it even cheaper.

Well it’s time to renegotiate this deal but guessing it’s not going to be easy! 😬
