do you think you're anxious because youre coming to the end of your debt? It's been a very sure path for so long now. plus in your head do you think no more debt means you're going to have a baby and you're not ready to do that with oh yet? or that youre scared of it not working. there's lots of babies around you at the moment. it will play on your mind.
just ride through the anxiety. it doesn't have to win. I find fighting it helps pitting myself against it. hope the new house is snag free now xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Thanks all
Kitten, I really don't know! I think it's partly that I turned down the job offer because of potential children but what if it doesn't happen, what if I'm already too late? I do get quite anxious for no real reason a lot of the time (well, there is always a reason but I usually don't notice it until after I start feeling better)
Also, I've never not had my 'own' money, and the thought of maternity pay is petrifying!
OH thinks it's just because I love the house so much. And I do, I just want to be able to leave it without feeling like I'm going to pass out
Today has been a bit better. I had to go to a meeting in Bristol by myself as my Director has done his back in and as I didn't have a choice I just turned the radio up and started driving.
It was a successful meeting which made me feel more confident and there was a crisis whilst I was there so I ended up sitting on a car park for almost 2 hours making phone call after phone call to make arrangements for yet another contractor who did something wrong
My meeting was at a lovely company though, who specialise in dementia care homes and the place was lovely - they really take on board the results of research studies so each room has a proper front door, and all the corridors are round rather than straight as apparently these are things which make a difference for dementia sufferers. You are doing brilliantly. 80% in less than 2 years and with moving house twice!! My advice with maternity pay is see if you can live on what your OH earns and your forecasted maternity pay as soon as you can and save (or reduce debt with the difference).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Hi kirstypoos! Well done on the 80%! With regards to your anxiety have you ever tried yoga? I found it really helped me, especially the concentrating on your breathing. Might sound a bit daft but I find when I'm getting anxious if I just concentrate on breathing in slowly for 5 seconds and then out slowly for 5 seconds it helps calm me down. Hope that helps abit!

Hi Kirsty
I don't know if this will be of any use to you at all - but when my anxiety is up I do most of these...

Thanks CCL, I have bookmarked this to have a look at on my lunch break when I'm not rushing. I know I can get it under control but sometimes some of the techniques I learnt during CBT feel like they aren't working anymore, so I'm always happy to read up on things that work for othersHi kirstypoos! Thanks Jessy I wanted to do a yoga course but it's going to be my treat to myself when I'm debt free as the one I want to do is quite pricey. We have got a wii with yoga on it though, so may well start doing that of an eveningenthusiasticsaver wrote: »You are doing brilliantly. 80% in less than 2 years and with moving house twice!! Thanks enthusiasticsaverThe plan is to let OHs salary pay the bills when we find out, and my salary will then be split between savings, debt payments and some fun money (he does kung fu for 3 hours twice a week, which costs a pretty penny ) Hopefully that works for us. We should have very little debt left at that point so shouldn't be too difficult

So today is payday :j:j
I have made my initial set of payments (the rest of my debt repayments are then paid through the month in the form of normal DDs and PADs which I put a fund aside for).
I try and beat my allowed PAD amount every month by spending less than planned on certain things (anything less than planned in the joint account goes towards the next mortgage OP, so extra PADs only come from my planned spends)
The first set of payments have taken me to UNDER 6K :beer:. This is the least debt I have had as long as I can remember. Even if you add our joint debt onto it, it's no where near the figure I originally had. Kirsty, congrats on being under 6k.:j
In regards to yoga, Y0utube is actually a great place for yoga videos. One of my favourites is yoga with Adriene - she has loads of free yoga work outs & does a great beginner series. I find her easy to follow & not irritating at all, she's very funny.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
